Hey -Was wondering if any 500 flyers can post the cost for a typical crash. Obviously the extent of the crash will make a difference, but just to get an idea. I know with my Rex 450, it is like 20.00 - 40.00 and I of course am not expecting it to be near this, I only said that to make it clear what I am asking. Thanks in advance!

This is a tough one of a heli this size for any make. Simply because there is no way to estimate as blades alone if you wreck them are 70-100 dollars. The of course even a mild tip over if the wrong way can take out whole tail, mains, maybe even frames, then you could be in the 300 dollar mark. I just can not even make a strong accurate guess. I have been as low as 60 bucks, all way up to re kitting, several times, lol.

Blades are the big ticket item - I've crashed my poor 5003D 4 times over the Christmas hols and since learning inverted and funnels - it is FAR tougher than my expectation - the big ticket item is blades - far and away.
If you crash into soft ground usual casualties are flybar and flybar plastic ball links - the flybar from the T600 is compatible and around $3. The plastic ballinks are around $8 - other than that the landing gear most common to go - they're ~ $10 and if you bolt the gear to the frames with nylon bolts the frames are often spared. The main gear usually needs replacing ~$14
So I'd say my average prang is less than $30 (not inc blades) even with a tail first landing new boom, belt and idler wheels it was less than $60.
This is why the L500 gets a daily flogging and the L600 is reserved for Sunday Best till I get better !

I just had to rekit my L600 3d, first crash. What an amazing machine though! No comparison to anything I've flown.

You will find youself crashing less with this heli compared to a 450 size heli.
