Hello HeliFreaks, I'm looking for some feedback, good and bad, on a new type of neckstrap balancer that I've made that has easier access to the on/off switch. You can see it at http://racetronicsfabricating.com/DX...20Balancer.htm (http://racetronicsfabricating.com/DX-7%20Neckstrap%20Balancer.htm).

Thank you in advance.
Lyle

Pretty nice looking. Not sure how bad the spin would be being on one side like that. Probably why Fireup went with it on both sides with a hole in the middle.

If you have not seen it.

Hi DebianDog, thanks for the feed back. Not sure what you mean when you say "spin". I'mmmm thinking your referring to that it may spin about the mounting point where it attach's to the one that is already on the radio??? If so, I made it so that it is basically keyed with the existing one just like the G-Force and Fireups do. Also the mounting hole and the hole where the neckstrap attach's to are in the same axis. I had one of the others and found it to be somewhat cumbersome to get to the switch. So thats why I tried to make something different.

Thanks again for the feedback.

That's what I LIKE about Fireup's version. It keeps you from accidently hitting the switch when reaching for trims.

To me, main power switches should always be guarded.

I have a question on these adapters. I am using the Spektrum one and a XPS one.. I wonder how much leverage/stress we are putting on the stock tramsmitter eye with the way these are mounted. Too bad they cannot tie into the case at the strap end also. I am thinking about going back to my "Petal" transmitter tray. Dave

Hello Dave, yes the balancers do increase the level of stress that is applied to the stock transmitter eye. The balancers that mount at a 90deg angle will have a higher level of stress than a balancer that can be adjusted to an angle of 45deg or less. But they are only intended for normal use, this means that if you like to push against your radio while atached to your neckstrap around your neck, then I you may not be very happy with the results. Most of the ones you can buy will come with a disclaimer just for this reason. Whats nice about the low profile type is that it will fit in the same case with your helicopter with out any interference. I see some heli guys that take of there balancer from the transmitter so that they can get the helicopter and the radio in to fit in the same case. Yes we could make a balancer that would also attach to the case at the strap end but for no cost one could just relocate the stock transmitter eye like Tickitytoc did which would require extensive disassembly of the radio. ( See thread titled "DX7 Hanging strap mod" and look at reply #17 and #44) I would think that this is the way to go if you don't mind taking the radio apart. For the people that don't feel comfortable completely disassembling their radio... It's much easier to just buy one that bolts on and forget about it.

Hope this helps
Lyle
