Hey guys, first post here.. yay!! so heres the question. was wondering what exaclty entails a channel on the spectrum. its a 6 channel, 4 on sticks .. so are the switches considered channels? (throttle hold and flight mode?) I can physically see an extra slot on the reciever that i want to use for a lighting system.. which brings me to the next question, the system says the nav lights are full on but the landing lights are triggered by the aux channel.. how does it know if the whole pack is plugged into the reciever? is there an onboard controller chip within the lighting system?

thanks guys, looking forward to hanging out around here

6 Channels =

1) Throttle (left stick up/down)
2) Pitch (also left stick up/down)
3) Rudder (left stick left/right)
4) Aileron (right stick left/right)
5) Elevator( right stick up/down)
6) Gyro gain (gyro switch or other..)

That maxes out the DX6i that came with the B400 (and the AR6100e receiver).

The flight mode and throttle hold switches only affect the other existing channels.

I could be wrong but I think your channels are mixed up, I have it as:

1 = Throttle
2 = Aileron
3 = Elevator
4 = Rudder
5 = Gear (remote gain)
6 = Aux 1 (which is being used by a servo)

The open slot you see is marked BATT which is used to 'bind' a tx to the rx. I'm not sure if you can use it for lights or not, hopefully someone that knows will chime in.

I was only counting them, not assigning an actual channel...

Oh sorry, thats the way it looked.

So, do you know if the slot labled BATT can be used for anything other than binding, like lights or something?

It's only a 6 channel receiver. You could remove the gyro control and just use the pot on the gyro to adjust your gain if you want to free up a channel.

Yes, you can use the BAT for lights. But of course you can't switch them in flight then. As widower said, you could use the gyro gain easily though.

hey guys thanks so much for the replys, helped out a lot.. so with all this new info let me now ask this. If i were to pull the gain plug and adjust it on the POT, would that cause issues when i switch from to idle up? cause those gain settings between idle up and stunt are set in the Tx. thanks again for the help guys

Yes , you will lose the ability of having different gains for different flight modes, but you don't need that anyways. I use the gyro switch on my TX, but I rarely switch at all. It is perfectly fine to have one gyro gain for all flightmodes.

cool, thanks that makes sense. so last question on this subject would be this. If I use that open channel for the lights, how do i assign that channel to a switch.. lets say the ail/dr switch on the Tx. Im kinda lost when it comes to the assignments in the spektrum TX. thanks again for the help, you guys are helping me out a lot!!
