I am trying to decide between these two for my next heli.

The Belt CP seems to have about a 4" larger rotor blade diameter, however, that seem to be the only noticeable difference.

Any advice which one to get?

I am currently learning on a HB FP and am looking to upgrade.

Get the belt CP airframe....It's got a more solid platform and you can put whatever perts you want in it.

the king2 needs brushless motor and speed control right off the start. i went king 2 not knowing this and if i had it to do over, i would have gone with the larger brushless equipped belt cp.

I went with a barebones HBKII then outfitted with better servos, brushless motor, brushless esc, heading hold gyro, digital tail servo and will fly it with my DX7. I'm not in the air yet but give me a week and I can report more.

When you say you can put whatever parts you want in it...you mean you can choose replacement parts that fit other choppers? I am at the same point too...choose between Belt CP or HoneyBee King II. I know the HB King II needs to be upgraded to a brushless setup from the start. The Belt CP seems to be a bit bigger chopper but I can't find much info on it yet. Can the HB King II use other parts not made for the HB King II? Or are you limited to only 1 kind of replacement part (blades, gears etc) when fixing the HB King II?

im told that the king has a simliar head design to the Trex 450. you can actually put a CNC head from a Trex on it. idn bout much else, but i assume that also means blades. also ive heard numerous times that the skids are tranferable as well as the canopies. but i dont know any of this from experience, just the podcast all things that fly and some threas i've lost all memory of. so dont quote me on it lol

The head design of the king 2 is totally different design from the trex 450(overslung flybar VS underslung flybar)
The head of the belt CP is similar to the king 2, the king 1 and the cool. The difference is that the belt CP's head and swash plate uses metal ball links, the flybar carrier and arms are different design(has ball bearings). I actually have a cool with a belt CP head. Yes you can put parts from different choppers on the belt CP. I have tried an align trex 450 head on it. Metal Trex tail system, align boom, align landing gear, align CF tail fins, HS 65 servos(with some mods), HDX 450 frame, HDX 450 tail case and list goes on. My fellow flyers had a ball mix and matching parts on their belt CP's and trexs.

As of the HB king 2, The head of the belt CP works great(less slop), Some parts of the cool tail system works. I also find it better in crashes to use the belt CP boom supports. The best upgrade you can do on a king 2 is to switch to a trex 450 SA tail grips and hub system and use the belt cp metal ball links. Also use either the K&B or the align "batman" tail blades. These upgrades alone eliminates the bad TR slop of the king 2 and really gives it tail authority even with the cheap e-sky rate gyro. As also I said before, move the servo links one to two holes inward and to add a pair of small wheel collars to the flybar to tame the cyclic of the king 2, especially if you are using the stock transmitter.
