Yeah, i plan trying Champions, but i am quite happy with the white Spins now.
Just not heavy enough for very FFF.

I tried Torsions 690 FBL and they had bad tendency to "bite" in FF like in loops and simple 8 turns.
More in the Blades thread here.
When i returned them to the owner, he confirmed this behaviour also on T700.
They are good for 3D smack, but not for anything related to forward flight. :)
IMHO.

Have fun with the TDR!

The window is a simple vinyl cut, just like the original one. I just extended the rear part to a more aggressiv shape. Used Corel Draw to design the cutter drawing.

Took carbon look vinyl. The surface has a structure (a bit 3D) so it looks pretty authentic:

If you have access to a vinyl cutter, please feel free to use the attached file to cut your own reshaped window.

Cheers
Markus

Markus, is the vinyl a tape- or adhesive-backed product?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben

It's an adhesive-backed vinyl sheet/film. Just like the original.

That's really a nice one, Markus.
I like it a lot.
Very elegant and stylish.
I'll safe your file for the window. How about the TDR font on the skid plates?
Did you cut those or have you been able to buy them like this?
Do you know which font it is?

The font is called Xenotron, and is freely available. I downloaded it here (http://de.fonts2u.com/xenotron.schriftart):)

Thanks for the compliments!

Yep, that's the font. Make sure to have the font italic. ;)

Heres Mine :)
Had it a couple of months now.
bought used from a good friend of mine.
Pretty standard setup (Pyro/Jive/V-Bar/BLS etc)
Blast to fly, and loving it as much as my old 3DNT and 3DMP (both now moved on)

Originally bought by my buddy from a guy called P.J. on RR, very slight differences between mine, HC's and Edvards, Dont know who's was first, but when a colour scheme works as well as this one, plagurism is definitely the best form of flattery.

Mine is still here LOL

I kinda wish i went orange with flames as its hard to see most days when going really far away for FFF

EdvardR was first, but it was a derivative of a Tista canopy for the SLS speed heli with changed colours.

Thanks to everyone who posted photos here. I just reread the whole thread looking for pictures, and chose my color scheme based on what I found easiest to see. The result is a secret... until I post photos from the maiden. With shipping to the U.S. and build time that's probably a month or so.

Well I finally got a few in flight pictures. Canopy is finished but still waiting for the final canopy. Nevertheless here are a few pictures.

Sure did, but I soldered the bullet connectors on the motor before I got the Croco Fence (big mistake). I had to un-solder two connectors, push the wires through the bottom hole of the motor mount, then re-solder the connectors back on. I put another layer of heat-shrink on each motor wire and sleeved the ESC wires for a little more heat/abrasion insulation.

All went well, and the last step will be to strap down the motor wires to the frame with some Velcro tape.

Hi g-bru,
looks cool and will provide a good visibility.

Is this just a hole or a NACA duct???

Hi ZT, just put a couple of packs through the TDR with the new lid, it looks awesome in the sky, especially with the sunshine reflecting off of it and is easily visible!

It is a hole for the upcoming NACA duct production which our friend and fellow TDR pilot Mick is working on. Hopefully the cut out is similiar to Micks mould or else I am in the doo doo.

I have cut holes into both my canopies, just to allow a little heat to escape.

Yeah, no doubt dude. I mentioned in the comments section of my order that there have been many complaints regarding canopies arriving poorly packaged and ultimately damaged.

Guess Fusano took this on board and listened, because the canopy was filled with polystyrene and had polystyrene moulds fitted to the top to stop any cracking at the weak points. Was also wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a decent cardboard box marked "Fragile". Very impressed, well done Fusano!

Gonna order the new "Future" canopy now. Its green and looks pimp!
