FINALLY! yesterday early afternoon, finally had a successful vbar maiden/hover trim flight. got that on video just in case that was the only flight it ever had (i'm the consummate optimist, i know). keychain helmet cam (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=172225) is working out quite well, except for some shaking when someone asks me a question :D

however, this is the 3rd partial flight of the day after having upped the agility settings slightly. it's still bogging quite badly--i'm spoiled with my 12s 600 setup. i really have to baby the collective on this one. but, it will be tons of fun i think.

pardon the banter in the video. i land about 1/2 way through to lean out the mixture a couple of clicks when i see my rx pack is done.

HD vid is slightly larger if you click on the vid.

The Firework is something Robert Sixt does since I can remember. I don't know how he does it, but his show is really impressive. I saw it at the time when he was flying his MPs like this Video -> http://www.rcmovie.de/video/2ad67301d09326177c42/Robert-Sixt-Nachtflug-St-Johann-08

Yes i saw that a while ago.

Robert is one of my favorite pilots, very skillfull, he always seems to be the one making jokes in videos.

Yeah, that's part of his show... he isn't one of the Hard-3D or competition pilots, the only competition I saw him was MHM09 in Munich). He has a very inspirational style and he flies really precise.

Looks good, but must be hard to see? How do you like it?

It's awesome.

Flew like a dream straight from the work bench – no tweaking necessary – at all.

Hovering with 1350 RPM is amazing. Not a single sound other than blades beating air ever so slowly. It is scary silent – no shrieking gears, no nothing – you just see the blades spinning...
At almost 400 grams lighter than my 700E and with the same drive train, it certainly moves when you tell it to. IU2 is 1850...

I have a white canopy as well - a lot easier to see further away. The black one is fine for up close and personal :YeaBaby:

My ThreeDee NT, I have changed the motor to a OS 91 HZ-PS, a bit of a struggle actually, as the FX that was on it has a different shaft sticking out to mount the clutch assy. to.
The solution was using the FX's cranckshaft and rod in the HZ-PS... seems to work, but I have only had a short flight with it, the FX-crank has less flow for the fuel than the HZ... looking forward to seeing how it works out..

on to the pictures:

Engine area, spektrum revcounter and satellite, and a small temperature sensor.
had to move the pump to be able to mount the exhaust...

Rear, another satellite, logitech gyro, home made panel with the pin/flag, remote glow and fuel filling. (think i should have used flash on this pic)
