Today or rather tonight, was very overcast but complete and wanted to break things in and give it a whirl, quiet no vibrations and was a relaxing event overall. Now to break in pack, tweak abit to my liking and continue onward. Hard to see in such crappy skies, but I gotta a bright custom canopy in the works now. :D

Wow OICU812, those tdr pics are stunning.

Are you running the mini-vstabi and if so have you made changes to Jan's settings?

Today was Speedcup in Germany!

The fastest helicopter was a TDR with a top speed of 248 km/h.

It seems that Jan will release a new TDR 800 within the next 3 month (Rotordiameter of 1.8 meters).

There was a prototype of the TDR 800 at the speedcup. I couldn't find any pictures, yet.

But once I'll find them - I will let you guys now.

Cheers Marc

Spacecopter

In the german forums people are telling, that the TDR 800 is a stretched TDR 700.

In the near future (within the next 3 months) there will be conversion kits available.

All right - the first pictures of the "new" TDR 800 are posted on this page:

(I'm not sure if you can open these pictures, if you are not a member of rc-heli.de???)

Good luck

Yes i can see them, thanks.

Also Jan has the 2010 upgrade packages listed under information on his website. There are 2 packages, 1 is the head and the other all the TT and gears etc.

I will leave mine as is.

One thing I found really cool in St. Johann was the TDR carbon canopy, here's a video made at the Pöting SpeedCup:

Hi Guys,
yeah the TDR 800 is actually just a stretched 700. The tail boom and the torque tube is 10 cm longer and also the support struts. That's it. And of course the blades are 800 mmm now.
Jan is still looking for a qualified manufacturer for 800 mm flb blades. They are hard to come by.
The TDR 800 prototype was finished just a few days before the Poeting Speedcup, so Jan had just a few flights with it and the system and V-bar was not tweaked at all.
Despite that, Jan came in fourth on the cup.
Now, lets imagine he starts tweaking . . .

Edvard, I did notice you are running the newest Radix FBL blades, I assume 710s? How do you like them, and how do they compare in flight to the standard 710 Radix?? Be interested in hearing all of your comparisons and comments please. ;)

These are 710s. They are quite a bit more neutral than the regular Radix, and I absolutely love them on the TDR. Compared to even the Rigid, SAB and Radix, they are super smooth.

I bumped up the integral limit to 100, and the integral to 60, and it is sublime. With regular Radix, everything over 65 on integral limit would be interesting to say the least.

Need some more explanation, please.
Why did you feel you had to bump up those numbers? Was the reaction too soft?

Don't really have to do it - you can just leave the optimizer on. I found the stops to be crisper with these blades at higher integral (no optimizer).

ZuvieleTeile
06-08-2010, 06:44 AM
Did you use the optimizer then at all and dialed up the Integral later?

I used the optimizer on two different blades in a MP-E, but the stops are not crispy at all.Tail yes, but elevator and roll are soft to bouncy.
There is always a slight, soft shake after a crisp input at the end of the movement.
So far I did not play with the Integral part of the swashplate nor with I and P of the tail.

Any enlightenment in this regard would be appreciated.
If you don't mind, I start a new thread with that issue and you can give me an answer there.
The issue does not fit into the picture thread anyway.:)
