Finally got the boom on...
That looks bloody amazing.
A set of black skid tubes would be about the only thing I could imagine wanting to change on such a great looking heli.

I may have to bolt a set of those on to my TDR that is sitting in the local post office waiting to be picked up in the morning.

I reckon I am going to try to figure out how to glue a carbon plate into the skid pipe to not have to use the silver strap thingies.

Amazing scheme Edvard R !
I don't get it though, what's wrong with the silver strap thingies? The color ? :)

I reckon on the carbon pipes that they stick out like a sore thumb. (personal opinion only)

Like I showed on page 11, just dremel/cnc a small slit into the skid.
Probably can not be done by hand. will be messy.

Would it cut Ok with a good sharp endmill?? I have access to a manual mill at work.

I would guess so!
Moving the skid is the problem. Or can you fix the skid and move the drill head?
The holes are 47 mm apart and the flat part I have glued into the skid is 62 mm long and 2 mm thick.
It is a little bit tricky to glue it in the proper angle, which is about 34 degrees from vertical.
Maybe a little bit less, if you like to have a little bit of toe-in at the skid tips.
The easiest is to attach the small flat parts already to the skid plates of the TDR and set it together with the epoxy into the skids. Then you have the correct weight (don't forget the batteries) which spreads the skid plates properly and have a few minutes to adjust the angle, until the epoxy hardens.
Cheers

The photo I posted on page 11 just shows the raw skid. You have to glue-in the black plugs of course. ;)

I maidened my TDR this morning, what an absolute pleasure!!
Not one adjustment needed to have a very well flying heli.
A member of our club took a few shots of it.

Jan warned me about getting it too far away for visions sake.
But it was actually pretty easy to see.

Here are a few from a FF last weekend. Was mixing it up with a big plank doing some small hurricanes and funnels with smoke was kinda neat. :smokin:
