It sounds like a bad excuse for not having my homework, but my dog really did eat my cable. I still have the 3.5mm mini jack, the resistor (I guess) soldered to it, and most of the cable itself. Problem is, the mutt chewed the jack clean off of the wire, and I don't know which part of the wire goes to which part of the jack. I had to repair the cable at the jack end once already, and I know that there are only two connections that need to be made... and for $16 a pop to replace the cable (which NOBODY has in stock), I'm very much interested in repairing it.

Can anyone help me? Specifically, I'd like to know which portion of the wire goes to which part of the jack. This should be easy to determine by simply removing the cover from the mini jack and just taking a peek. Better yet, if anyone has an extra cable just laying around that they'd be willing to sell me, that would be great too.

It's a JR cable.

Thanks!

Hello Ray,

I have the red dongle adapter (version 5.3.0) and checking the cable with a continuity meter I get the following. The phone plug outer connector (widest) goes to the black wire and the center conductor goes to the red wire. If you look at the RJ11 connector (with the contacts facing up and the non-wired side towards you, the black goes to the far left contact and the red goes to the third pin from the left. Does that help?

You could send it to me and I'll fix it for you, just pay shipping.

Rusty and Jetfix-

Thanks for all the help, but I was able to find my cables. The situation was complicated by the fact that I need the version 5.04 cable with the new style terminal on it, but I was able to talk HeliHobby into ordering some for me. Thanks anyway, guys!
