they are suppost to be to be non European compliant the Us version transmits higher than allowed over there unless you have a 2.4 ghz police checking you radio i would just fly your helis /planes

100mw transmitting power on 2.4 ghz is the norm for power thru out the world. Except France which only allows some of the 2.4 ghz at a max 10mw.

Futaba and Spektrum and JR are all transmitting at 100mw.

For the radio to be legal in the UK from my understanding, it must have a CE sticker on it.

European type approval restricts our 2.4GHz output power to +20dBm (100mW).

There's less than 3dB difference in the peak output power between EU and US DX systems. However there is only a very minor reduction in range and no impact on selectivity. And both versions are classified as full range systems capable of controlling any RC aircraft with plenty of margin.

The 3dB difference is very minor when you consider the total path budget of the systems:

Path = RX sensitivity + RX coding gain + TX power
98 + 18 + 22 = 138dB for the US
98 + 18 + 19 = 135dB for EU versions.

If you belong to the BMFA and fly at BMFA clubs and fields. I would suggest getting a DX7 from one of the UK shops to be safe.

I thought there was a difference in power due to much of the world using 100mW peak and the US using 100 mW Average power.
