Just got a DX6i with B400. Has anyone tried hooking this up with RF G4? I see it has been done with G3.5. I am guessing its the same?

Yes, it works well.

Yes, it works well.

What is needed to connect the DX6 up? I have tried searching but I get different results.

Followed the instructions though and it didn't work right. All the controls seem to work, but the heli just dips forward and spins out of control. All the trim settings are zero and I tried it on a couple of models. It is almost as if the gyro doesn't work since it starts to turn immediately even before it leaves the ground. Any ideas?

Did you edit the heli and set it to "Pass Through"?
Also, your swash is set to 90deg on the remote?

Yep, made the pass through change each time and saved it as a different version. The swash came up that way by default, I definitely remember. If it needed to be changed, that could be the culprit.

Did you calibrate?

I followed all the steps. What do you mean to calibrate? I adjusted the throws to 125%, set the reverses accordingly, set up typical throttle and pitch curves, and added +15% expo. Should work, no?

I mean to calibrate your controller in realflight. And in RF, where you map the channels, do the channels move according to your gimble inputs?

They do move. The aileron doesn't move all the way to one side. I trimmed the hell out of the rudder, aileron and elevator and it flies ok. Still isn't very stable. Just flies much better with the interlink controller. Not sure why it would need trim to fly.

You shouldn't have to trim and all channels should move the full range. Make sure you do the following in rf:
- after you select your controller, select controller->controllerCalibration, then follow the instructions. You will need to move the gimbals in all directions multiple times. This will calibrate the maximum ranges your controller produces.

BTW: in your radio, when you set the maximum range to 125%, make sure you set the range for both high and low. I.E. Moving elevator gimbal will change whether you are setting the high or low range.

Personally, I find using your radio plugged instead of the rf controller makes a big difference in the sim.

Absolutely right, the thing shouldn't need any trim. You hit it spot on! I haven't even done it yet, but I know I didn't calibrate it correctly by moving the controls to the maximum ranges. I was probably flying the thing with maximum range in only one direction!
And I did not set up maximum range in both directions on the radio. I'm sure that will make a big difference too. That was not that clear from the directions, but it makes perfect sense.
I fully expect the DXi will make a big difference in flying.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP.

Can you setup DX7 with realflight sim and if so please let me know how?

just follow int2str's instructions at the beginning of this thread. Some of the menus may be slightly different, but not that different.
