Hi All,
I've used a TJ pro with a 9CHPS and it was very easy to calibrate and the TJ and set it up.
I have a TJ rev limiter installed on my new model and I'm told I won't be able to program the 9ZWCII to have normal, idle up 1 and idle up 2. I'll only be able to have normal and idle up 2. For some reason the 9Z wont recognize idle up 1
So I did try to calibrate the TJ and set it up with the 9Z. I did verify it WON'T work in idle up 1; however, it will work in normal in idle up 2. Is there anyway I can use the 9Z so the TJ will work in normal, idle up 1 and 2?
Regards,
CHuck

I don't have a TJ and I have not used one. But if your using the ATV's to set the values. You can adjust the ATV's in each flight condition for the channel that the TJ is plugged into.
For example if the TJ is plugged into channel 7, then adjust the ATV's for channel 7 in each flight condition for the rpm you would like to have.

They suggest using channel 8 to control the TJ.

It can be a LOT harder with the 9Z, but there are a few ways to do anything with the Z. David's method sounds easy enough, and I would also recommend using channel 9 as an on-off switch for the TJ. It is always better to have a way to inhibit it completely if necessary. Let us know how it goes!!

Thanks
I'll give it a try and see what happens. I'll keep you posted

Hi,
I ended up using the following on a tj pro, the revmax should use the same setup and will know for sure in a few days.
This is'nt really that simple but works well. The tj is simply controled within each condition so all I have to do is use the idleup switch, personally idl1 at a low headspeed 1500 (hovering) and 1850 (aerobatics) works well for me and tells me which condition I am in. Goes a long way to prevent you from flipping inverted in normal mode :)
Aux1 (ch7) - tjpro
Make sure the aux 1 atv's are 100% on the aux1 channel and assign it to a switch (model->fnc) so you can get into the calibration mode. Calibrate it per instructions.
Go to model->fnc and aux1 and set the ctrl to NUL, this will basically centers the channel which is off to the tj pro, there is now no switch or way to control this channel so you use a pmix offset for each condition to do the job. Atv's remain at 100% for this method.
I do not guarentee the %'s listed below, you have to figure up the % for your model and gear ratio using a tach or a gv-1 as I did.
Go to idle1, condition menu , pmix and set it up as follows: Active , pick OFS (offset) mix type, set SLV to aux1, hit next and set the % to -36% (which worked out to 1500rpm on a raptor 50 8.5 to 1 ratio, you'll have to figure out the % for your model) If you want to be able to turn the gov off go to the swt function and set the switch to turn the mix on and off. When the mix is off the aux1 channel centers which disables it.
Flip to idle2 condition setup the same mix and set it to +56% (1850 on the craptor, for me).
If you have a idle3 or other conditions you want the tj working on set the pmix up for each one.
It probably does'nt matter but just in case the tj is smarter than we think set one rpm to a -% and the other to a +% i.e. -36 (1500) and +54 (1850). The tj might be storing some info about each headspeed.
Make sure you setup the f/s for the aux1 channel to center it up and disable the tj incase you run into a pcm hold, set your throttle to idle as well.
Go to the sys->servo screen and make sure the aux1 channel is doing what it should. Normal and hold should be centered and off, idl1&2&etc should move the position to what you set.
One last double check, go to model menu and pick fnc and make sure aux 1 is not assigend to any control's or switches.

Auger,
Thanks, I'll try it.

I used a similar method to Auger
You need to set your aux channel to a switch with the ATV and AFR set to 100% to calibrate the TJ.
Then I just set the AFR in each flight mode for what I want the TJ to do.
Remember that unlike a GV1optional setting, the TJ WILL disengage any time it sees a throttle position of less than about 25%, Like in hold or the bottom of the normal mode.
