normal throttle is

0,50,80,90,100

idle up is

100,95,90,95,100

normal picth is

45,48.5,57.5,75,100

i have 2 degrees negative pitch at low collective, + 11 at 100%

I don't have 5 point pitch and throttle curves available to me, just 3. I have my pitch curves at 20/50/100 normal and 0/50/100 idle up, my throttle curves are 0/50/100 normal and 100/80/100 for idle up.

What's the point of 0/50/100 pitch curve in idle up with 100/80/100 throttle. Granted idle up is mostly for 3D but I can't think of why you would want 100 throttle at 0 pitch but 80 throttle at 50 pitch. Sorry to pick but i'm wanting to learn what reason could be behind it.

I use high head speed at zero pitch to keep the tail rotors moving fast. The faster my tail rotors are spinning the better my tail holds. When you have low head speed and punch it, the tail has to fight the torque and your not moving as much air on the tail. The tail is like a fan. The faster it spins the more air it pushes. More air = more power. More power = better tail holding.

buzz, what are your curves?

Rate mode is linear 0-50-100. Idle-up (both 1 & 2) is straight 100%. 100-100-100.

is this thing supposed to be so sensitive? damn, it just seems like it's going to take a long time to learn to get it under control the way i'd like. my trex, and my cx2 are ok, but man, this thing is nutso fast.

My mistake, you are right, its 100/0/100 (or should it be 100/50/100?), wasn't thinking about that since I haven't and won't be using idle up for awhile I'm sure. Normal mode for me.

Use about 20% expo. on ELE and AIL. Tames it quite a bit for me.

buzz, how experienced of a pilot are you? personally, i suck.

Slighty above noob. I can Hover for days, FFF, Nose in, fig 8's that sort of thing. No 3D yet.

I fly:

2 CX2
CPP
3 Gaui 200
Trex 450se V2

if one of you fine gentlemen would like to explain how to do that, i would be very:noteworthy

Expo helps but not as much as dual rates on EL, AIL and RUD.
I use 50% dual rates on the 3 controls with no expo to tame my birds and it works quite well.

Dual rate reduces the over all travel of the ail and or ele servos and does nothing to change the sensitivity. Exponential doesn't reduce the over all travel and only reduces the sensitivity of the ail and ele servos at mid stick. With 20% (at least for me) for both ail and ele the heli doesn't feel as twitchy when giving input on the cyclic. At first, it felt like tiny little movements on the stick translated into big results for the heli and now its much less responsive which for this heli and my skills is a very good thing.

i wish more people would post their settings. i'm sure we could all learn from each other. don't be shy;)

Did you figure out how to set expo on your DX7? There should be a menu in there somewhere called exp or something like that.

i found out how to change the values, and what results i'd see. now, if mother nature would cooperate, i'd be in good shape.

Cool. I hear ya about the weather. I live in Omaha Nebraska and right now the weather is pretty crazy heading into Spring. We will have lots of wind. Not that it matters, I have grounded myself and have been following RADD'S School of Flight and haven't even attempted flight since I started. Chalked a box on the garage floor and thats been my sky ever since. I really want to get as much out of this hobby as I possibly can and if word of mouth is worth anything then RADD'S is the way to go. I'm on battery 6 which just so happens to be the battery I started on, LMAO. I had already spent hours setting up the tail on my kitchen floor which happens to be a grid of one foot (more or less) square tiles. Until I can maneuver within the box at will, I won't be leaving the box. Remember, if you are not in the control the heli is. :dontknow

originally went
Normal throttle 0,50,80,90,100
Idle throttle 100,95,90,95,100
normaly pitch 40,45,50,75,100
idle pitch 0,25,50,75,100

expo's gone for -50%, -50% and -10% try and tame her a bit.
gryo at 60%

but I do play with them

The Normal throttle above seem to put me in hover just above the half throttle, but she does seem to come down quick so have to be light on the throttle if that makes sense.
