not to be a balloon popper here, but I want you to know that you get what you pay for. I is possible that you get only like 30 cycles

That battery is only 15c.....for just hovering it might not be too bad, but try to get at least a 20c battery next time.

some people have had decent luck with those mystery packs, some have not. i'd take care to run it in well before using it to it's full potential. if cheap lipos are what you want, check out www.hobbycity.com (http://www.hobbycity.com) and search "zippy-r", they are a bit more $ then what you paid for that pack but have a full 90 warranty and i've heard nothing but good things about them.

i'm still learning to hove. actually my trex is still unfinished. i flew my hirobo shuttle some last season, but still can't keep it in a 10' box. ounce my trex is finished i'll start using Radd's flight school. at the moment i need batteries to just learn to hover.

yuppers i know ya get what ya pay for. normally i buy mid to high grade, but learning to hover i think i can get away with cheaper batteries.

links to cheap, and good 3D batteries would be appreciated. not that i'm ready for 3D, but would like to know where to get good packs.

FWIW: Hovering takes a lot more power than forward flight, especially if you're up out of ground effect. In addition, there's not much air moving to keep packs/motors cool when hovering, only the downwash from the mains. Good packs are a good idea for hover practice. Once ya get into sport flying, lesser packs would probably be fine because of the reduced amp draw required for that type of flight.
