Still working on getting the vid up. My $100 camera sucks. It saves in .MOV format so I had to buy Quicktime Pro to convert to .AVI. There's 4 short vids I need to convert so I can edit in Moviemaker and so far it's taken over a half hour to convert one. Hopefuly I'll have it up today. Video quality is crappy but maybe it'll help someone.

Here's a short hovering vid with the Pheonix 10 cutting off at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_H0-9UQzmc

I'll have the tail vid up as soon as it uploads to youtube. You tube rejected it saying it was too long. 13 min is too long? O'well I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Had to make new video. Sorry it took so long.

There may be mistakes in this video. I'm sure there is. Making a video like this is a lot harder than it looks. I'm no expert so please don't flame me :flamedevil Please watch all the Finless videos for accurate explanations of RC helicopters and RC helicopter components.

Again, I do not claim the information in the video is accurate or the right way to do things. It does however work for me and the three Gaui 200's I have setup. All corrections and or suggestions are welcome. If anyone can do a better video please do so. Hopely Finless or someone like that will watch the video and take pitty on the Gaui 200 guys and do a real one. Hope the vid helps.

Why do you thing it cut out like that?

I have Phoenix 10 ESC on it. I think it was too much for it.

buzz, is it more stable with all that headspeed? it was funny at the end of the video when you said...whatdahell????

I found the problem. One of the motor wire came lose at the solder connection. I thought I had fried the ESC.

I don't know what the head speed is. That wasn't in idle up mode. My pitch is at zero at mid stick. Idle up really increases the head speed a lot. In my little livingroom with an 8' ceiling I'm a little hesitant to bounce around like that. The 200 is a bullet even on a 2S battery.

You say your pitch is at zero at mid stick, isn't that the definition of idle up mode? Idle up and non idle up headspeed would be determined by your throttle curves.

mjr_larkin:

I suppose in a way it is.

At mid stick my pitch is at 0 and my throttle is at 50%. In idle-up at mid stick my pitch is 0 but the throttle is 100%. So in idle-up the head speed is greatly increased. So I guess I am using "normal mode" as a third idle-up mode. My idle-up mode 1 T curve is 100-85-100, idle-up mode 2 is flat 100. Normal mode is linear.

rotorhead58d:

It's my understanding that increased head speed makes the heli more stable. I don't know the technical terms but its similar to holding a bicycle wheel at the axle. It's easy to rotate when it's not spinning but if you spin it, it becomes increasingly harder to rotate the faster it spins. That's a simple example but I don't know how to explain it any better.

It's been done for two days but Youtube won't let me post it because its 13 minutes long.

use some standard software to split it into 2 or 3 parts then, or better yet host it somewhere other than youtube. I always prefer those .wmv links. Either way there's a solution!

You could host it right off of your computer if you leave it running and have a decent internet connection that is. Just set up an FTP server. You need to have the pro version of WinXP (don't think the home version has the ability) and I have no idea when it comes to Vista. I can help you out if you don't know how to do this. I could even set up the FTP server on my machine and have you upload the file to my system.

If you can get it to me I would post on rapid share or you could do it yourself .
