Hi all
I was looking at my titan and was thinking
I have the esc mounted under the battery heatsink up.in that position the only ventilation it gets is through the opening under the nose but directly under the esc there are two large open panels. Won't it be more efficient it the heatsink faced those openings? In 3d flight i guess yess but how about during normal flights? (i'm still far from 3d)

Mount it however you can get the most airflow over the heatsink. Orientation doesn't matter to operation. Mine's on top of the bottom frame under the battery tray.

That's why i'm asking. Will it get sufficient airflow if mounted upside down?

If you guys are talking of the original ESC provided by TT .. Well err.. Best orientation doesn't really matter where mine is.. In a drawer.. I changed for a much better one.. Phoenix CC45 and I have no more heating problem!
An overheating ESC is an almost certain source of major problem (soon or later)..
Now if for the sake of few more dollars if you are game to risk your full bird that is your right. LOL
Same goes for the motor, even if you are 'squeezed' financially, you can afford either the Z-Power Z10A which is a far superior motor to the original one.
Your bird will be far more responsive and the 'heat problem' won't be there no more!
Anyway everyone is entitled to hos / her opinion ..
Happy flying.

As mentioned the CC45 ESC is good, the Kontronics is too, but a lot of money. For motors, I'm really looking at the JustGoFly TT450H, it looks like a great motor. I'm going to keep the stock setup for a while though and keep an eye on the temps. My ESC is mounted on the tray under the battery, seems ok there.
