i choose hs-45 servos for cyclic, and they seem to be very popular.

one question though....

has anyone stripped a gear on these??

i'm asking because i also got me a couple of gear sets, just in case....
and the first gear that (in other servos) usually break, is not included!!! :soapbox

if these also strip the first gear, what is the use of a gear set....?

had them mine for a few weeks, well since I built it and it hasn't been hammered yet but the servo's are as good as anything else i have had on my heli's I initally had mx306BB on the tail but it fell apart these seem good and Hitech have a very good rep.

what do you guys mean when you say the servos fall apart. I've heard this several times about the maxell servos, that you have to tape the tops down cause they will "come apart".

So when you are flying, your servos just fall to pieces before your eyes and the bird crashes? If this is the case I can't see how anyone ever considers them as options, even economy wise, for putting in a heli.

I'm thinking about going all S3154 on the gaui when i get it, at the very least swap out the tail maxel servo for the S3154 digital

the top comes off never had it in flight but I put one of n the tail and it literally fell apart, and the poeple I know that use them do put tape around them. They are fairly cheap light and quick. Where as the 45's are slightly heavier a tad slower I dbelieve, but work very well,

I have a S3154 on the tail works a dream cured my tail arm hitting problem, your need your dremmel though as you have to make a slight mod to the bracket, just needs a trim of the bit where the servo bolts to, but worth the effort I think

got an answer from Hitech RCD Rep
(to same question as first post)

quote:
We've yet to see an HS-45 with a stripped gear. The output gear should not be the one that breaks in the unlikely event that you do damage one because of the huge amount of surface area.

...... the combat threat in rcu has already someone with stripped gears....
don't know if it's the first one though.....
