been flyin helis since xmas. got 2 axe cp's from fiancee as gifts. installed a gy 240 on one of them on sunday. didnt like the sluggish handling. yes it holds the nose but it takes so much away from the main motor cuz the tail is always spinning it loses rotorhead speed and handles terrible.
using lipo 910's holding 12.48 at the begining if the flight. still slow handling on idle up. i had the stock 3 in 1 dialed in nice. gonna take it off. probably better for a non tailmotor set up. anyone have any better results?
when i used a gy240 in mine, i had two different lipos, a 910 and tp1320. with the 1320 i had higher headspead and the tail was pretty solid. with the 910 the headspead just wasn't there to hold solid enough. flight times were still about 10-11 min.

Get the 401. It's way better! Up your pinion size for more headspeed or simply upgrade to brushless if possible. Full separates will be best for all-out performance, but I doubt you'd be interested in doing that right?

Thank you KenM, tried the 1320 its better still sluggish but i love the duration and power.

actually i ordered a dx7 want to set up seperates on the axe to learn all the set up adjustments. I love tinkering. Thank you skunkworx.

This might be a good resource in your quest for separates:

This is the best guide I've ever found, but your setup may vary. Good luck!
Let me know if you need any help with the DX7 when you start into the project :)
