Ok I am upgrading my Raptor 50 V2. Along with a bunch of mechanical upgrades, I am upgrading to a DX7, Scott Gray regulator, CarbSmart and LiPo power.

Making a clean job of mounting all this electronic is a major challenge.

I want to use some double-sided tape ( along with Velcro straps ) to mount the regulator, RXs, and LiPo. Is there any readilly availlable tape that would be a good vibration insulator??? I was thinking of using gyro tape ( 401 ), or are there any better solutions???

Thank you!

ZEAL tape is way too squishy. It's like the gyro is floating on an air hockey table.(thats the best analogy I have)
ZEAL tape allows the gyro to pivot and sway, making inertia your enemy.

I'd recommend ZEAL tape to no one.

Regular 3M tape (1 or 2 layers) is all you need, and it works.

If your heli vibrates so much that you think you'd need anything as squishy as zeal tape, then what you need is to fix the vibration problem, nothing else.

Thank you for the replies.

Actually it's a bit more complicated than I first thought.... Mounting a Lipo, ReactorX, AR7000 Rx, Carbsmart.... all on the small Raptor's tray, is a bit of a challenge.

I did consider Zeal tape, but hey it's a bit expensive, considering I don't live in the USA ( shipping....). I agree that this thing is probably too squishy for gyros , but I think it could replace the 1/4 in foam rubber that I currently use to hold the receiver etc. ( with the addition of velcro straps). Anyway I'll keep scratching my head, maybe I'll find a way to neatly fit all the electronics....

Thank you!

This is what I have used for 20 years to mount, gyros, receivers, anything that needs vibration protection.
http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=heli&Product_Code=ACE306

It is a 3M Product. Double Sided Foam Vinyl Tape, Part number 4408 I buy it in a 20 yard roll and it lasts me about 4-5 years.

Yes I have tried the Zeal gel. Personally I think it lets the gyro sensor move around more than it needs to. I can run a higher gain using the foam tape mentioned above. I just use one layer on the gyro.

Sounds EXACTLY like what I need! Thank you for the info. Will try to find it locally.
