Hello I have a few helicopters already a 30 and a 90 and some small electrics but I am wondering what is the size of the Hurrican 550 is it like a 30 because the Trex 600 I was thinking on is a 50 size? I am wondering also is it a good heli and good idea to get? I was thinking on getting it one cheaper to run because $23 a gallon or so with a 90 doesn't last long. I could buy alot of batterys for that or for fuel prices also I am having alot of engine tuning problems etc and electric works or it doesn't so wondering this it would be a good reliable cheap heli?

The Hurricane 550 has been said to be in the same scale size as the 30 gas. I use to have a Trex450 SE and sold it to get the Hurri 550. At first I was like I hope I made the right chose since this thing look like a giant compared to my Rex. Now I have had the Hurri for over a month am glad that I made the move.

You will not regret with this Huri 550.

Basically I have about 12 flights every weekend, Sat morning and afternoon, Sun morning and afternoon.
And I consider it zero cost to fly it every weekend.

Offcourse the initial investment for the batteries is high but still cheaper in long run.

The main reason not for me to touch on GP heli is oily body need to be clean up first before put it inside the car.

The last thing, pls never thing that the EP will have less power compare to GP. Put in a Z30A will make the huri like a monster.

the hurricane 550 is a 30 size when using 550mm blades and slightly smaller than a 30 size when using 500mm blades. also like the other guys have said you will not be dissapointed with the hurricane550 :)

The H550 is right in the middle in size comparison of a Trex 500 and Trex 600.

BL - I don't think you can consider it zero cost ??? as a set of good batteries cost approx $200...
Seeing the amount of cycles vary between people - if you get 100 cycles - well it's basically $2 per flight!

At that cycle rate - your weekend is actually costing you $24 !!!
If you get 200 cycles - it's Down to $1 per flight!

Granted - that's a lot cheaper than nitro fuel... but some pople are reporting approx 50 cycles... well that's
$4 per flight!

not sure how many cycles people are getting but it would need to be 300-400 cycles for you to class it as close to zero cost per weekend... but I don't think MOST people are getting anyware near that amount of cycles...

Also - it's a BIG hit in the walet each time new batteries are required vs a constant smaller spend on nitro fuel...

I have a raptor 50 - and one thing I do agree one - the hurry is much more convienient to go out to fly than the Raptor...

You have to take care of your lipos and they will last pretty long. Be aware of the 20% rule and have in mind that cold weather is not you batteries friend. Otherwise take A123... much more cycles and much faster to re-load.

This is what I'm gettinging but don't do the same:

http://www.rc-expert.com/product-package.php?pid=662

Download all of Finless Bob's hurrican 550 build videos first, Then decide. Also check out these videos:

http://www.runryder.net/helicopter/rrTV-Photo/funflies/IRCHA2005/

There's a 5 year old kid Justin Chai I think thats his name. He sold me on the 550. I figure a 5 year old kid can do this, so can I! but if you watch Finless Bobs videos, Don't get a ready to fly!!! put it together yourself. In the video his dad even says they are useing a rototech 515 blade and a 6s3300. that's not what mine comes with so now I havta put that on top of what I already paid for.

Ouch,
