Would it be worth the wait, as I might get my 2nd 200 soon!

Nobody knows until its been tested.

I still think its more parts to break, but I'm anxious to see it.

I bet they don't release it. It would be more tiny little parts and would over complicate things. The belt drive works fine in my opinion. Slightly larger tail blades would be nice.

link please to this part or "coming soon" stub or something. Where did you find out about this

I went there but I don't see any new shaft driven tail part in the GAUI spare parts section

i agree, partially....

they won't release it because it is not needed.
but if they do,
it is possible to do it with only 4-5 parts. like the robbe eolo.

It's going to be released.. I flew one of the prototypes for ReadyHeli. I also flew the original Gaui 200, and one thing that always annoyed me about it was how tight the belt tension had to be to keep it from flipping on the pulleys.. The music is kind of stupid but here's the "test flight" http://readyheli.blip.tv/#712066

The new torque tube setup is really simple.

Looks like it is here,

so looking at this thing on the site, what happens if you break a gear or something, you buy a whole new boom? and what about the pinion. Does that mean no more using 3s?

Looks like they have the parts covered too...

Well, I would certainly like to see how well it works and definitely won't be one of the first to test it out.

Mail send to www.readyhely.com

In this video: http://blip.tv/file/705991 it is mentioned that you intend to sell the Gaui 200 with a TTT, but there is absolutely no reference to it on your website.

Please fill in the blanks for me :-))

Thank a million

Peter

Hi Peter,

That was a preproduction prototype in the video. We should be getting the production model in stock very shortly! Please stay tuned to the website for availability.

Thank you for choosing Ready Heli!

I hadn't seen anything at all actually confirming the existence of the shaft drive until this morning with the pics from Flying-Hobby. Do you have to use the aluminum tail boom that the kit comes with? What about those of us that have a carbon fiber tail boom? The shaft drive is cool, I like the concept and see how it could be better than a belt drive, but with it comes a new set of issues I am sure. I'll wait and see what the "pioneers" have to say about it before I convert (if ever).

3S yes,but only with this double-pinion i guess.
it would be impossible to install a smaller pinion to the main gear, if the tail pinion is on the same shaft (motor)

too bad they didn't do it "robbe eolo style" where the main gear itself has a second gear.
this way you could do anything you like.

well I suppose two pinions could be stacked. Otherwise, its almost impossible to do 3s without finding a motor that will work with 15T

Gaui has a pinion just for this tube system. It has a 15t on the bottom and a 12t? 11t? 10t? on the top. I don't know how many teeth there are on top but's its less than the main pinion.

If you use dual 15t pinions good luck with the tail not exploding :banana

What exactly are you pointing at Buzzkill? Anyways, I love your avatar man. The video of someone flying the 200 with the shaft driven tail looked good, I mean the heli flew fine. What exactly is the purpose of changing to the shaft drive? Are people still experiencing broken belts all of the time, is that the reason for the shaft drive? :dontknow

made me think....
it may be possible to put a different pinion on the main gear and compensate the missing space with another gear or a similar teeth gear for the tail.and move the boom a bit forward, but we have to see it first.
