You're not enjoying their game are you?
I think it's going to continue a little. I'm just surprised to see how much patience people have waiting for this thing...

People have patience because it is:
1. The absolutely most gorgeous heli to be manufactured ever period. My wife told me I had to have one, I think I will use that to my advantage and get 2. :)
2. A lot of people (like me) want a QUALITY heli. I already have 3 T-REX's, a Raptor, a QJ8, etc....
3. Lots of people (like me) fly with an Avant RC Team member and see the quality of the heli and how it flys and want one.
4. Ask anyone at the Ron Lund FF in Corpus what heli was the most checked out and oogled heli there? Henry's Aurora.
I have bought helis before they are ready, and unless you have not been in the hobby long and have never bought one that you had to change out a lot of parts on due to "upgrades" (FIXES) you would understand that buying early is not what you want on an expensive heli.
I will wait until it is ready and LOVE it once I own one or two. If you don't want to wait, get a plastic cookie cutter heli and fly it. Take my T-REX's for instance, new grips, new tail hub's (more than one) new gears for tail drive, new auto hub, new this that and the next thing. I don't want to pay for a bunch of changed parts on a high dollar heli because it was rushed to market. I do not understand why people like you guys think that is a better option than waiting until it is ready? I flew a very quality but expensive heli brand only (almost) for 4 years and I can show you some shocking receipts. I will wait until the Aurora is released before I am impatient and pay for it later, like I did before.:arggg:

I agree. They should just say it will be ready when its ready and GIVE NO RELEASE DATE!!!! By promising numerous release dates and not coming through is bad customer service IMO.

I don't think anyone questions the beauty and quality of the few prototype Auroras that have been seen at funflys. But, that's not the point. The point is that many people have put down their money expecting to take delivery on this beautiful machine over a year ago. My concern is that Avant has been unable to get this helicopter into a satisfactory production stage in anywhere near a timely fashion. Most anyone with enough money can have a few parts machined, screw them together, and push them out the door claiming to have the greatest model helicopter ever produced. As far as the word knows they have produced zero production machines. Why? It could be for several reasons, among which may be the inability to achieve anywhere near the prototype quality in the production machines at anywhere near the projected cost.
There could, of course, be other reasons many of which have been guessed at on the forums and we need not rehash them here. Up to this point Avant has been a supplier of upgrade parts for Hirobo helicopters. This is their first attempt at an unique machine and I fear that they are not up to the task. I hope I'm wrong, but Avant's actions to date including the virtual shut-down of their support forum have not eased my mind.
What would ease my mind? The truth.

Retailers took peoples deposit money not the manufacturer of the heli.
I fly with HC (as you know Bob) and if the heli can hold up to his flying, I am 100% sure they can produce a good heli that will last for many years for me. I don't go on their forum, but I think that there is a big difference between "Avant's actions" and the rumors and words and false truths people attribute to them. Again, I am a friend of HC, I have seen his machines and the changes and development of them over quite a while. As you know, back in the day, I saw the same thing from MA with a bunch of my friends who developed and flew their machines. Take the Stratus and Ion-X for instance, they are still under development even though people have been buying them retail for years. My point is that, I would rather buy a finished heli that works than to have to pay a grand for a kit then spend 600+ to upgrade it to the current version like I did with my Ion-X that Dan is flying now. It is still not the X2, which I was promised and never received. That would cost another 600 to get for Dan. My point is that I am not interested in doing that again, and I would much rather be patient and not believe all the BS. For people like me, I would rather wait until the heli is ready. From everything I see on HC's 2 Aurora's, the R&D will be complete BEFORE they go on sale. It is my choice to wait, just like it was my choice to spend 2 times what the heli is worth to keep it current when I flew MA, or even now with my T-REX machines. Constant upgrading of parts that did not quite make the cut the first time is not what I am seeking again.
I respect your opinion Bob, and I hear what you are saying, but I see it differently as it has unfolded for HC and I see the improvements now during R&D not the way it is happening with a LOT of other helis I own and know first hand that I have been a test dummy for.
As for production of machines, I do not know anything about that, I am a computer geek, and I will not try to say I know differently than you. I think you make a good point there, and I know a projected price has been listed for the Aurora. I have always just worked hard and paid whatever it took to get what I wanted to fly. You have a good point, and it remains to be seen about cost vs quality. I do not think that will be an issue, HC's machines are as high quality as I have seen from any manufacturer, but at less than 1K advertised, that is pretty cheap pricing for what you get. Time will tell...
Also, few prototypes I am not sure about. HC has had 2 for a LONG time and he crashes them HARD. I have not seen any trouble getting parts or good feedback to Avant RC. His helis are well parts supplied and the replacement parts seem to look not like the prototypes I have seen on other brands like MA back in the day HC, Botos, Larson and others were testing, they look more polished and production, but again, I am not an engineer or expert on parts or manufacturing.

They should first at least give some idea to all these people waiting(and many have lost their patience) what the deal is. Don't have to go into specifics.... It's a production issue, or it's a legal issue, etc and leave it at that. Rather than the run-around BS that keeps getting thrown out there.
Myself I'll never own one as I do not support companies who practice in-the-toilet business procedures and mislead/shut out their customers. I don't care if the thing costs 500 bucks... It sure is a nice heli but it's not the "revolutionary bird" it was when first introduced. I wouldn't let Augusto pay me to own one.
Frankly, I'm disappointed they're allowed to advertise here.

I guess I have to agree with your last sentence. I have read that this forum will not let companies advertise here if they get many negative comments and problems from people (HeliHobby). AvantRC has a LONG list of such comments from people.
If only SOMEONE from AvantRC could post something. A sincere response from them and an idea of WHAT is happening would go a long way in showing some concern to its potential customers?
Sorry Will..............I have GREAT respect for you and this site! I just find myself shaking my head all the time over this AvantRC thing......thats all :(:(:(

I heard some inside information as to way these kits can't be obtained. Now I don't know if my information is 100% correct, but I think I'm on to something.
It's been rumored that Donald Trump has been buying ALL the kits in large batches as his learning curve has been a bit slow. He has people build the heli, set them on the flight line in a long row and he walk down the flight line crashing one after another. He refuses to have the helis rebuilt, for him everything must be new!!! He also refuses intruction and thinks you must 3D and learning to hover is small potatoes. That's the rumor I heard.

Gee, Will. I'm just not sure why you cling to the Avant brand. I'm sure you enjoy your time with HC, and like the way the machine flys, but why would you keep an advertiser who has for two years promised and failed to deliver a product? Like it was said before, it tends to have a reflection on the forum when it is front and center as an advertisement. I would have to think you KNOW what is going on behind the scenes, or maybe you don't. Regardless, the product isn't available, the money has been taken AND in a round about way the money HAS been given to Avant, and people have nothing to show for it. And no communication.
Surely this isn't about the Almighty Dollar....

I have to say that the Avant Aurora is a beautiful machine. The sponsored pilots really show you what this machine is capable of, but the release date keeps getting pushed and no info doesn't make it any better. I am not trying to add fuel to the fire, but the Trex 700 is really looking sweet. The new pics are making my mouth water. Which one will be release first is going to be a toss up. I am going to buy a 90 size nitro(my first) but the one that will be released first will probably get my funds. I hope the Aurora gets it release soon, or a new king with get the throne.

Is the delars and not Avant RC that have taken your pre order money. Last news from Augusto about the avant:
From AvantRC:
Sorry to bring updates so sporadically but we are completely dedicated to the release work.
We are currently packing kits while sorting out last minute details. There were some parts that required modifications and that delayed even further our work but most are taken care of.
We keep our dealers updated as much as we can as to where we are but some time ago we decided to stay out of the online world until we are done so that we don't get distracted. Until we are done with the release this month you won't see much of us online. I'll be at the Vegas funfly so I hope to see many of you there. In the meantime we'll get back to work.
Augusto.

You don't need a product to buy advertisments, but they had product before which they quit selling.

Could be, but getting people's hopes up/down repeatedly isn't the correct way of going about it.
I'm a business owner and if I pulled anything close to what he's doing, I'd be OUT of business in 2 weeks because I'd have zero customers.

Thats why the Avant thing is so funny to so many peeps :):)
It really is such a marketing boondoggle that most find it way unreal. Amazing lack of caring about potential customers!
I still say, WHY anyone would still buy this thing after all that has happened?????????

I agree with both sides here but my main concern today is part's support. Will James, how are you going to feel if you get this kind of service when they are out of parts? No response, no reply, no information. Meanwhile your heli is down. Now what do you do?
I completly agree with what you wrote as far as getting a heli with all the bugs worked out, but that is only half of the equation. The other half is parts support and customer service.
Just my concerns.

After reading all these negative post for as year, I have to say it will be at the end very soon. I know Augusto has been working his butt off trying to get this heli out.
I agree a post from time to time informing the progress would have been great for all of you. At the Huntsville Event I got to see what the heli is going to look like out of the kit.
I was very shocked at all the things that were different from my machines to Jason Bell's. Everything on this heli now is all Avant ( No Hirobo at all on it) . I know my machines being way older still have some Hirobo links, tail pushrod holders, boom support ends, and Hirobo control balls. And my frames and skids are a little different.
It has taken some time to have all these molds made for these parts. My helis have been flown very hard from sometime now with great results. I have to say this is the best 90 heli I've flown. Alot of you know I'm a straight shooter when it comes to being honest about what I fly. I've had the chance to fly for other Company's , but feel like the Aurora is the heli for me .
It for sure suits my flying style, and looks killer to boot.
I appreciate all of you that have remained patient on the release, and for all of you that have not, I feel sorry for you too.
The bottom line is Fly what you want to fly, If you feel like not waiting then move on. Trust me I know it's been a long wait for alot of you....
I've been asked it seems like 10,000 times about this heli hitting the market. trust me it has been just as annoying for me , as it has for you.
When the kits hit the market feel free to drop me a email or pm if any help is needed.

Thanks Henry,
I think i speak for a number of people when i say it is nice to hear something.

Thank you for the update HC. I am waiting patiently, there are really no other helis I want like this one. Thanks for the stick time on yours. I will wait, my CC is ready to go.
I am not worried in the least. I have flown high end machines for years, and I remember waiting for main shafts, tail shafts, torque tubes and all kind of stuff from the other high end company. I will take my chances with Avant RC very happily and gladly. There is no better looking or IMHO flying 90 that I want other than the Aurora!! Yea Baby!! Can't wait, CC is ready and waiting!!!
