4000MAH PACK low voltage

I have had good service from this RX pack for about 9 months now but noticed recently that I only get avout 7.8V (no load) after a charge and the voltage falls to 6.9 (1 A load) after only 2 flights. A full charge only takes about an hour.

Any thoughts??

I would say that you probably have a cell that is bad in the pack. But usually when that happens the light on the Duralite charger will never go out indicating the battery is fully charged.
The charger will not stop charging until the battery reaches over 8 volts from my experience.

Is the light going out on the Duralite charger after about an hour?

DavidH : I have a pack doing the close to the same thing only I have isolated to the battery tester and or the lead coming from the switch.. Im not done checking it yet.. I replaced it till I have time to figure it out.. sometimes the tester reads the correct voltage and sometimes it dont..this one is strange, if I mess with the voltage test lead on the switch it will start to read normal....I think at this point it may be cheaper to just send it in to FT WaltonBeach and get it checked...What do you think?

Have you tried checking the battery directly and not thru the lead from the switch?
I would hook the tester right up to the black plug from the battery and check it to eliminate the switch as being the problem.

Yes David, I connect directly to the batter. Its the same.
