Quick question about the Belt-CP stock ESC. Does this ESC have auto low voltage cut off for Li-Po batteries? I don't want to run my Li-Po batteries past the standard low voltage cut off point and risk having a damaged pack.

Yes it does. I believe it is 3.2 volts per cell. You can go to the E-sky site for a manual down load that has specs. for the esc.

Cool....Thanks for the info

I checked the manual on the E-sky site. It states the low voltage protection to be 9.2 volts for a 3 cell lipo.

hey guys..ive been hovering alot with a 3cell pack lipo and squeezin the juices til its almost flat.is that good for the batt?will it also affect my stock esc or any electronic parts on the belt cp?

...and by the way...im thinking of changing my esc to something with higher amps to suit my bigger lipo packs.will this affect my heli in any way?

Don,t go below 3 volts per cell for in use voltage. Resting voltage will be higher than the in use voltage. The main rule of thumb is to monitor the mah charged to the battery and go no higher than 80% of the rated mah of the battery. If the esc you have now is operating ok stick with it. Adding a larger amperage esc will not increase or decrease the amp flow of the system. A larger mah battery will give you longer flight times. Amperage will be the same. The difference you may notice will be a change in center of gravity because of some extra weight in the larger mah battery.

(I checked the manual on the E-sky site.)
Can you post a link, I looked on their web site and I can't find the manual for the ESC.
Thanks

I found a manual, thank guys.

How do you measure mah ?
I have a digital polymeter to measure volts...
I have a problem with my stock Belt cp, after a few minutes (2-3) , suddenly it looses power ... and i have to land it (i am just doing hovering).
After a few seconds there is enough power to hover it again but after a minute the same again.
I tried with 2 different batteries but the same.
Can it be the ESQ ?

I believe that I had the same issue. but I have been flying for awhile and haven't changed anything except for the 11t pinion.
first real flight out I was full throttle, recovering from the ever too common "I forgot to got to go to idle up before that roll" and before the heli was back to a hover (I was level but still climbing) I clicked up to stunt 1...this would be where the motor cut off and I lost complete control. It fell from just above telephone pole height and landed on its side on pavement. It wasn't until after the disgusting CRUNCH the the motor spun up again.
I'm at a loss. is it possible to reach the instantaneous limit of 50A? and if it does will the ESC just shut down for 3 seconds?

Hi guy's
May I ask, can it be that there is to much gripping on the whole setup and so overloading the motor e.g. the esc. To check follow Belt CP Instructional Videos in the sticky's .If it is not binding or gripping I am afraid that chances are great that the esc is having problems like bad connectors or even bad esc

not sure about Tox, but my set up was a bit stiff after the initial build with the CF frame. I did all kinds of things to loosen it up, adjusted gear mesh, had to ream out holes in the frame to loosen up the play between the bottom bearing block and the middle block (it was squeezing the oneway bearing sleave really bad). by the time i was done it was much looser but still nothing like my freind's Trex...his will spin forever after he cuts the throttle.
I think that that may have been a contributing issue to my problem. Anyone got any tricks to loosen up a stiff heli?

Oil it up like a turkisch wrestler
With a good setup if you cut the trottle you should get about 15 to 20 turns out of it and
Check belt tention

I'll give that a shot,

I have the same problem as you Toxotis, after 1-2 minutes of hovering it looses power and have to land.
Cant figure out what´s the problem.
My belt-cp is brand new, and only seen indoor hoverings... Does it have to break-in or something like that??? Or is it a bad ESC? Thanks!

I have an other question for all you guy's that have this problem.
When it starts to lose power is the esc feel hot, can you hold your finger on it for more the 2 seconds

No, its not that hot.
Its warm, but i can put my finger with no pain !
The battery is very warm too.
I tried everything, loose the belt , check main gear and pinion, oil it, open holes in my canopy , changed position of the ESQ so its outside the canopy etc ...
What the heck is going on ?
I tried it outside too, yesterday with a little wind, so its difficult to be the heat.

Mine its very hot!!! I´m not sure if it cuts power because low voltage, or high ESC temperature.
My ESC gets pretty hot, but if somebody could tell me whats the normal operating temperature, I could check if its overheating.
When it cuts power, you get only like 50% power enough just to land. Then let it rest and goes to normal power for another 1-2 minutes and then again cuts the power
Thanks for any help

I just found in another forum... that it might be the charger power supply... tonight I´ll try to charge the li-po battery using my field 12v battery as power supply. I´ll post the outcoming.

how many teeth is your pinion? On my belt, when I ran an 11 tooth I had the exact same problem as you when I ran it with a blade 400 main gear. It was overworking the motor and causing it to get too hot. Dropped to a 9 tooth and all was fine.
Also, as Wibbie said. Make sure your pinion to main gear mesh is not tight. (you should be able to move the main gear just a hair either way before it engages the pinion) and ensure your belt is not too tight (you should be able to hold the tail rotor with one hand, and with a little bit of pressure applied to rotating the main rotor, the belt should jump a tooth on the tail output shaft)

My belt-cp motor also gets very hot... you can't touch it at all just after flying it. Is it normal?
thanks

All electronics feels warm at the touch bud you should be able to hold it without burning yourself.
I still think it is some kind of binding thats the cause of overheating. Also check battery for swelling.

Still have the same problem.
Its not overheating problem. Motor and ESC get warm but you can touch it without getting burnt.
I´ll have to try another battery, or another ESC... :( it sucks...
