Hi all, just started assembling my 550, noticed all wires on motor are black, wiring diagram in instructions is kinda funky, no rear mention of how its wired. Also not quite sure which motor was sent in kit, label says H/1811H ULTRAFLY, KV1100, What kind of motor do i have here and what batts should i use. I am a 50 year old newbe at this, just got into heli stuff around x-mas, love it!...any help would be great, Thanks, Rick

Brushless motors are AC. Hook up the wires. If the motor turns backwards, swap any two connections.
Search will help with this and the battery question.

i'd go at least 2500mah 25c packs. if you can afford it, flightpower 3300's.

Rick...I'll agree with the above....but in any case get 25c packs....I'm using 2200's and get a solid 5 - 5 1/2 minutes and 2500's getting 6 -6 1/2 minutes depending on how hard I push it. I am not into 3d but I'll do loops, stall turns, hard high pitch turns and some flips.
I also use and Eagle tree with monitor on the heli so i can land and check mah used...several times I have been able to take off and get another circuit or two.
I try to use the 80/20 rule and that is to not draw the pack any more than 80%...so the bigger the packs the more you can draw....
I also have some 3300's that I can get 8 or so minutes from...
Just a matter of what you can afford.....I have 4 sets...because nothing worse than having a great flying day and having to wait 1 1/2 hrs to recharge.
