--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got my 9303 this spring and love it !! ( BUT ) I was at a fun fly this weekend and the radio didn't want to take turns flying. The ON OFF switch stoped working , I shut it off after a flight and the screen stayed on. I had to pull the battery to in pound it and plug in the battery for every flight the rest of the day. I was razzed by Futaba Freaks bad. I sent it in and hope I get it back soon. I already have the shakes and need my flying fix.

OK I SENT IT IN TO GET LOOKED AT !!

I called them before they started to work on my radio, I wanted to make sure that all my programing (3 helis and my IMAC EDGE) would be safe, I have many more models programed but Thea's are very important for shows I am planing to attend. And that I didn't have a backup for this new radio. I asked if they could save my setup in case they were to send me a new radio. Two days later I get a call. Good news and bad news they tell me my radio is bad and they will send me a new one but all my programing was lost wen they tried to fix the old one.
I am so MAD This Just might push me over the edge to get the FUTABA like I talked myself out of for the JR .
My buddies at the field like to joke around with me. They tell me JR stands for JUST REBUILT !! *** KNOW IM NOT LAUGHING !! ***

Hey Mike,

$hit happens, I am sure it was a mistake and they screwed up. At least they owned up to it. I love my JR9303 and I also have had great service out of Horizon.

Sorry again for the loss of your programs. It stinks. Take a deep breath, then borrow a friends Futaba and try to program it. I think you will still be a JR man.

I am not a rep, only a satisfied JR owner.

This is also why I make photocopies of the setup sheet in the manual, then fill it out. While I dont update the sheet as often as I should, it gives me a great place to start from if my model settings were lost.

I would find it hard to blame Horizon for this, it is important to maintain a data backup for any computer device, especially before sending it away :)

Tough luck man, I know it would drive me nuts to start over - but at least it is on a 9303 :D:D:D Very easy to setup!

My condolences on the death of your programs. :(
When I got my 14MZ it took me 2 months of programming and test flying and adjusting to get my 19 aircraft programmed in and set up and trimmed.

I am now able to keep backups stored on my computer and on a spare memory card.

Like rob said borrow a Futaba see how much easier to program it is and then order one.

Sorry, couldn’t resist, I love my 14MZ, it is by far the easiest to program radio I have ever used. Yes I have used JunioR radios.
That’s saying a lot since it also has the most capabilities of any radio I have ever seen.

At least they made it right with the hardware. Hobby services (Futaba/OS repair center) absolutely refused to replace a new engine that was bad out of the box. they wanted to rebuild it for me, only after telling me that it wasn't under warranty since I didn't buy it in the US. (What country is Bilings, Montana in anyway?) This totally reinforced my dislike for Futaba/OS.

Get a Futaba, they will tell you to go screw yourself if you need any warranty work done on it.

Maybe the place you bought the OS from didn't get it in the US.

When you get the new 9303 programmed, I would suggest writing all the information down and storing it in a safe place.
That is one of the things that is nice about Futaba 9C and 9Z and 14MZ is the ability to store models on Campac's and Flash Cards .

Well, it was Heliproz, and I don't peg them as being grey marketeers.

They claimed that the C-Spec was not released in the US at the time, and that was about a month after everyone and their dog were having problems with them, curtis had his perry pump mod up on his website. Yet Hobby Services still claimed it was grey market.

Anyway, it is a long story. All of which to say that I would rather ride in a freight car full of TNT than buy anything that involves Hobby Services again.

Hobby Services would know if it was released in the US. They are the official importer/distributor for OS in the US. So they would be the ones that distributes them to hobby shops when they become available in the US.

Curtis gets motors directly from OS, so he had one of the first ones made. I have seen a couple of the new OS 91's on models here in the US. These will be released in the near future. But there is pilots flying them and testing them.

There has been a few shops that went around the distributors and bought items from other countries and sold them here in the US. That is one of the reasons that YS Performance marks the motors they distribute with a cartouche.

They never even looked at the engine before they made this and several other erronious claims about it.

My favorite one was when one of the CSR's said "what's a connecting rod?"
