I don't know if this would apply to you, but here in the states, you can get a general liability policy. I was paying just about $100US/month for a $2,000,000.00 policy. I'd contact your local insurance company and ask them about it.

thanks Kevin

ive not heard of such a policy here. we would have public liabaility insurance and employers liability insurance but i do not know would this provide the correct level of cover. would we need a seperate policy apart from all the other insurances??

thanks a million

We are on the other side of the world so it was a little different here. We went to the biggest specialist insurance broker we could find and got them to do the looking. Our first customer (a City Council) had 3rd-party and business indemnity minimum requirements and we got what we needed within 5 days. Not bad considering there are less than 10 insured operators in the country.

Our equip isn't insured once in the air - no one would cover that... Oh - writing the "Health and Safety Policy" was the highlight of the week :arggg: But we got all the legal stuff done in under a week. I'm sure if I wasn't so obsessed, I would have given this game up before earning a $.

Dunno how it'd be in Ireland.. For a lot of jobs we did, we would have to get the insurance company to make the company we contracted with a "named insured" party on the policy. Typically cost about $50 each time - which we rolled into the job cost.
