View Full Version : Another possible 5245 servo mod

Just thought i would share this. I used J B weld to reinforce the servo cases. If you read the package they say this stuff is as strong as steel. I'm sure it's not but it's for sure stronger than the plastic cases.

Also i'm thinking of using the adjustable plastic servo arms that come with these servos. They are the only plastic arms i have that go to 16mm. Hoping the plastic arms could be the weak break point for a crash.

My question is are these arms strong enough? I'll be practicing 3d and will be putting a lot of load on the servo arms. Just don't want them to break in half mid flight.

Thats a good idea, been thinking of that myself. I thought about grinding a little on each side of the plastick arm to create a break point? Nice work on your servos I will try it now.

did you try the servo arms that came with the kit? i.e. 82mg servo arm? I use that for my hs225mg I'm sure it would fit the 5245mg..

I forgot about those arms. Now i don't have to try to measure those adjustable arms.
