I've written up a comprehensive guide on how to use the DX6i with RealFlight.
Click the images below for a step-by-step tutorial.

Great guide int2str, my nose is already brown from the glowing review I left for you over at realflight, but I just wanted to let others know how well this guide and the dx6i work with RealFlight G4. The sim has taken on a whole new level for me as a direct result.
Switching from the G4 Futaba controller in the sim environment, to the dx6i in real flight, made me feel nervous and disoriented when flying the b400, this might help cure my jitters and hopefully prevent the $20 landings.
I am currently flying the Trex 450 se v2 in RealFlight G4, can anyone recommend a heli model that is closer to the blade 400?
Thanks again int2str

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!
I was hoping this would help somebody! :D
Btw. I've added a new page for plane setup. You might want to add that to your DX6i as well. Then you can switch models depending on what you want to fly.
You can switch between the problems at any time.

I have been looking for this information for some time now. Now to get off work and make it happen.
Thank you all for posting information even though most of it is over my head ATM.

A few things that differ with my setup, is my flight mode switch does control the idle-up of realflight, and my idle hold does control idle hold in the sim. It looks like you are using idle-up and idle-hold to control your throttle and pitch curves but the problem is that the sim doesn't have separate inputs for throttle and blade pitch.
It sure does. I believe it's channel 6 on the sim. I'm not in front of the sim right now, but I can assure you 100% that you can control throttle and pitch independently. Otherwise the hold switch wouldn't work in my setup and it does so very nicely.
What my setup does is use the throttle curve to control idle hold, the gyro channel to control flight mode, and the pitch curve to provide throttle to the sim.
That's a very interesting setup, but I feel it's much more complicated than it has to be. Also, if you do it this way, you won't be able to switch between Heli and Plane flying easily, since the channel mapping is all off.
Also, the way I described it in the setup is much closer to the setup of an actual model with regards to the throttle and pitch curves, which is good practice and allows you to match the setup you have on your actual heli.
Either way though, you came up with a pretty novel setup.

BEAUTIFUL. I just got a chance to try your setup and it works great. What I was missing is that radio in pass through mode uses the knob input for pitch so that's why I faked out the idle hold switch using the curves in my radio.
BTW: I'm using your setup in G3.5.
I'll remove the guts of my previous post so that it doesn't clutter this thread.

This is the best! I do want to add... Can it differ with other helis on G4? I use the 450 se v2 stock with total 4.54" on the flybar to sim the B400 on the G4 <- until we have one. Hint hint anyone LOL Great JOB!!!

Is there a noticeable difference?

When you say the Interlink cables, do you mean the cables that allow you to connect your DX6i to the Interlink?

The best thing to do would be to contact RealFlight, they will definitely have what you are looking for.

Thanks so much for this. Got everything working in the Heli in G4 except stunt mode is ALWAYS on. Cant figure out how to turn it off. Also, an annoying beep keeps coming from the DX6i. As far as the guy wanting to know a model close to the Blade 400 try the Mini Titan in Expansion Pack 4.. If anyone has a closer model let me know. I would be willing to pay for a very close model.

Grab the TREX 450v2 and shorten the flybar it flys real close.

Is it possible to use a cable that plugs the DX6i directly into the computer and still run RealFlight? If yes, do any of you know where I can buy such a cable?
Thanks,
JP

no realflight will not run without the interlink plugged in, you have to run the dx6i through the interlink controller.
For what's its worth I have realflight G3.5 & 4 ........Reflex XTR .........and Phoenix .............
I have flown all with the DX6I ...................
The Blade 400 3D in Phoenix is the closest i get to flying the real thing ......I know that sounds kind of obvious but they don't always do what the box says..............
If you have the cash and want a true sim .................Phoenix is the one
Only my opinion .......no offence meant
