im finishing on a raptor 50 se and ive got 2 different types receiver batteries, one is the sanyo 4.8 600mah that is the 4AA , and the other is a JR EXTRA 1800mah that is a C size 4cell, and i was wondering if anyone could help me with which to use and what is the difference between the C cell and the AA cell ,thanks and here are some pics of the 2

I can't tell from the pic, but are you sure the JR pack is full size C cells? Most rx packs are 2/3A. Either way, if you can fit it in I'd use the Jr pack. You might be able to get one flight in with the 600 mah pack, maybe two but that's pushing it.
BTW, if you're using Spektrum equipment I wouldn't bother with the AA pack at all. Go ahead and chuck it at the neighbors!

thats what i was thinking of doing with it the next time they start fighting with each other and interupt a good movie (ha!ha!) i was reading somewhere and saw someone use a similiar batt. as my JR and i think they called it a sub C ,heres a little better look but i was thinking surely the 1800mah JR would be better than a 600mah,thanks

I've got neighbor torture down to an art-the least of their worries is getting hit by a battery pack!
Anyway it occurs to me the AA pack is incapable of supplying the amps you'll need, especially if you're running digital servos. But your bird will definitely benefit from a 2s lipo-an 1800mah pack would be plenty and around only half the weight of the JR pack.
Of course you'd have to have a lipo charger. And balancer.
Hey, it's only money, right?:)

ive been thinking about going li-po ,ive got a charger ,no 2 ,ive got a balancing from the stryker 27 (now deceised) from a head-on with tree at around top speed which was suppose to be around 100 and ive got another from an old blade cp pro ,is there alot of work with running li-po on my raptor

Soldering on the right plug would be the only work required. Most rx packs come with JST plugs, the little red one the Blade takes. Those will plug right into your receiver. I've never been able to find unassembled JSTs so you'd have to cannibalize an existing pack to make your own. Or, you can just order the pack with the plug already installed if you want to buy new. Check out http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/main.asp?sid=566984& or Maxamps to get an idea of prices.

those little red connectors are @p plugs ( 2 position, IE they are keyed to fit only one way)
The JST connector is the white keyed plug ( also known as a balance lead)
Consider a Duralite flight system. Its expensive at $250 for everything( battery, charger, regulated switch, load tester, and AC adapter to charge in the house) but SOOO worth it, i never have to charge at the field, I dont know how many flights i get from a full charge ( the most ive done in a day is 6) but even after that i still didnt have to charge. i would do it especially if your running digi servos.

i was wondering how duralite were compared to other brands and if i decided to get the new align regulator i wonder if it would work ,i guess i need to do some research on their new regulator and look at going li-po cause i only get about 1 hr. on the JR 1800mah when i had it on my 30v2 i use for training and practice,i hate breaking the news to my wife ,she will love it ,ive got over $2500 in my se .50 and its still not flying ,and thats not counting my radio, i guess when i get it finished in a couple of weeks i will have to promise to sell my other 2 and give her the $ women ,gotta love'em and mak'em happy
