Hello all
Well I just got my first real radio a Futaba 7C 2.4 Ghz and am reading the manual but I had a few questions that I couldn't seem to find info on in the book so...
First, what does the info on the lower right hand side of the main display mean?
It reads something like 1H09 but will change from time to time but always has a number then a letter then two numbers, is this some kind of frequency thing?
Next, can I get a better battery for the transmitter, IE one that will last longer then the stock Sanyo one.
If so any recommendations on the best ones?
Also will the red light go off on the recharger when the battery for the radio is fully charged?
I'm assuming it will stop charging once it is fully charged to correct?
Lastly, I was trying to get the timer to work and was messing with everything but it wouldn't start. I then when into the menu for it again and changed at the top where it reads "Timer >INH" to "Timer >OFF" and it started working.
I thought this was odd as to me this would seem like this is an on/off switch for the timer and I would think this setting would mean it was off but am I wrong?
Does INH stand for inhibit and then OFF means the inhibit is off?
Thanks for any help

***** it means the Radio has been used for 1 Hour 09 minutes.*****
Next, can I get a better battery for the transmitter, IE one that will last longer then the stock Sanyo one.

****I use the 1100 NiCD packs from http://www.hangtimes.com/txpacks.html
Also will the red light go off on the recharger when the battery for the radio is fully charged?
I'm assuming it will stop charging once it is fully charged to correct?
*****No it will stay on I believe, I use a different charger.******
Lastly, I was trying to get the timer to work and was messing with everything but it wouldn't start. I then when into the menu for it again and changed at the top where it reads "Timer >INH" to "Timer >OFF" and it started working.

**** Yes INH is inhibit, it will show off until you activate the switch that you assigned for the timer.****
Thanks for any help
Hope this info is helpful.

Hello Doug
Yeah thanks that does help,
I found that hangtimes site in the time since I made this post, they look like the best batteries that can be got for this app.
You mention a different charger are you using the one from their site?
Does it work OK to use it with the Radio like the factory one?
Thanks
Bill

On the timer: the menu will show INH by default. Whe you activate the feature it will say OFF only if the switch controlling it is off. It will show a letter designation for the the default switch that controls the timer. I cant remember the letter like (E) but it is the lowest switch up top on the left side of the Tx. You can flip it and it will show ON or OFF. You can set it up to be ON in either the up or down position. You can also assign the function to another switch of your choosing.
I just started trying to get my Swift set up on my new 7C last night. The menu logic is starting to make sense to me now but I havent been able to get my SWASH working properly. You would think that the manuals that come with the helis would show which swash designation the 3 or 4 most popular radio systems use for thier type. Maybe some do. This is my first big heli and I just started trying to fly helis this year. I did fly planes for many years but have been inactive in RC for the last 6 years almost. Electric flight has really come a long way since then.

Hi Bill,
I fly Helis and Jets, so I use this charger for everything: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEYD4&P=ML

Yep, I like my accu-cycle elite. Its only limititation is you can only do 3 cell lipos, if you arent serious into electric it should charge nearly every transmitter, reciever, glow driver, and rc car battery you own.
