hello

am new to AP and wanted to get some flight times for various models and setups before i decide which route to go.

will be doing aeriel video from small cam with overlay data (gps) etc..

also want to do high res still images with another camera that is unyet decided.

so im looking for a heli with some lifting power...

i was looking at the trex 600, but maybe the 500 can lift a canon digital XTi???

what flight times can you get with these rigs??

i would get the biggest lipo out there!!! :)

also i see theres a 450 se v2 copy the copterx... that may be good enough for just some aeriel video with overlay..... its almost an exact copy with interchangeable parts...

thanks for your input!!

I have a Vario silence modified running 700's and 725's depending on the wind.

10S2P 8000 packs. AUW with a 360 mount / Nikon D40 w. 10.5 fish lens is just under 13 lbs. AUW with front custom mount and HD video cam is 12 lbs.

Flight times between 20-25 mins with 20% reserve depending on which blades (flat bottom/sym) and cam/vid I use.

Trex600 CF bone stock running Vblade TST 600's.

6S2P 5000 packs. AUW 360 askman mount carrying a Canon A64o w/a lens 11lbs.

Flight times 10 mins with 15% reserve.

I tried carrying the Nikon and my Canon XTi but they're too heavy. It will auto like a brick and total all of your gear in most cases.

I recommend not overloading your heli.

If you are running a 600 blade machine, keep it UNDER 11lbs max. unless you are prepared to write off your gear in case of a mid-air/auto failure.

My 2 cents.
