Does anyone know for sure if the rc-flysoft twin switch will work with the Canon A640? I can't find the single switch in stock anywhere, but the twin switch is available.

Thanks,

The twin switch is just 2 flysoft single switches together, the only difference is that the twin switch defaults to continous on when it is triggered, where the single switch defaults to single trigger when it starts up. You can change from the default by holding your TX in the shoot position when you power up the flysoft switch.

You will have to hack your A640 shutter to use the switch. Search for it on RC Groups. I don't have time to find the link right now.

I use a single switch to trigger my A640, and a double switch to control the zoom.

Thanks. DJ had confirmed with me that it would work, but I did not know the twin defaulted to continuous. That is great, because I always shoot in continuous mode when doing AP. I always hated having to turn it on with my A630 when I used a servo trigger.

Thanks, I printed out the info on the hack several days ago.

Thanks again,

Hey guys, I just took apart my A640 last night. It was really easy to do. I am going to Radio Shack today to buy a 15 watt soldering iron. I am trying to figure out a clever way to mount the servo wire connector to the outside of the camera. There is not much room at all. I just got my RC Flysoft single switch this week direct from the company since Askman does noy sell anymore. Took about 3 weeks to receive.
