Anyone have problems with the mounting holes on the Stinger 50 tearing. The mounting holes on my Stinger 50 are starting to tear. Does anyone have a fix?

I read somewhere that the fiberglass covers were eating the mounting posts and wallering the holes around the grommits so I had some of those thin magnetic business cards with sticky on one side. I cut a circle about the size of a quarter and applied it to the inside of the canopy and drilled the center to match the whole in the canopy. The grommit was a beyotch to get in but its holding really snug for 2 weeks now.
As I was writing this I got to thinking about the magnetic part and wondered if THATS a good idea as its only a few inches from the gyro..... But I have not really noticed any ill effects

On all glass canopys of mine reguardless of brand, I always epoxy on a piece of either 1/32 or 1/64 thick plywood depending on the glass thickness, approx 3/4 diameter, to support the hole.
This works very well to keep the glass from cutting through everything it touches and also keeps the glass from chipping around the hole.

Spred Shoe Goo on the inside over the gromet nice and thick. It drys fast then drill the hole open. Provides a nice soft mount and lasts longer than my Heli :D
I did this on the plastick one tomake it stiffer, The plastick is thin.
