As for IRCHA, I don't have any idea what my travel schedule will be next month, so I don't know. If I don't, maybe I'll send the ION with somebody who is. :)

i read over the instructions that CC has for the 85 on their site. seems like the typical CC programming but what i am really curious about is the soft start.

ICE CUBES???? yes I need a 12s pack of ICE CUBES  those batteries should rock :badair:

The 1521s are in the pipeline. Chris will get one of the first from this lot. They should be available in the next couple of weeks.

As for my "sales" skills, the day I can sell ice cubes to Tony and Karl, I'll know I've arrived... :D

No - it just works :)

Still haven't tried bailing out of an auto (too close to IRCHA) but did hhave the motor stop and restart full blast in the air this weekend when the heli went into failsafe briefly. There was an event close to our field where people may have been flying R/C without fx control. Installed a ferrite ring on the ESC / Rx lead just in case.

Has anybody tried the HV-85 yet?

Anybody figured out how to get the PH HVs to work with the Phoenix USB link?

Al

Yes. You will needed to download the latest version of Castle Link (2.03 beta I think).

The link MUST be connected to the ESC before connecting the batteries to the ESC.

Hi Al

What you need to do is download the "Castle Link" software from their site. Get that all configured and running, plug in the PHX link, you will get a green lite on your computer display. Then plug in the speed control to the link and then the batteries into the speed control, at this point you will get another green light on your computer display.

Now your good to go...

Thanks Chris and every one else,

I got it programmed and installed last night. Can't fly it until Saturday though.

What a heat sink this thing has, interesting construction. Hope it works as good as it looks.

I have to uninstall the Castle Link and reinstall it, something's not right. Mine flakes out after 60 seconds. The window starts flickering until you shut it down and restart it. If you can get it programmed that fast you're OK.

That Tempest pitch changer sure improved my tail Chris.

Al, i had the same problem. I uninstalled the software then reinstalled it and then it worked fine then.
You might try that.

Well my HV 85 fried on it's first startup attempt with a 32-3, never even got it running.

I just love doing this beta testing for these guys and paying for the privilege :arggg:

About 5 seconds after it started vibrating the motor it shut down and won't do anything much else accept light the LED solid red.

Serious bummer Al

I'm sure they'll make it right...but of course there's the time lag. Perhaps they can send you another one sight un-seen and you'll have it for next weekend.
