View Full Version : DX6i ELEV or AILE -> Throttle mix?

I only post this here as all the B-400 come with this DX6i Transmitter, and I was hopping to get to the right audience..

Can anyone else with a DX6i confirm this?

In any mode, but preferably Heli mode, can you have an elevator or aileron input add throttle? I fly curves and don't have a governor, so this is of interest to me!

I can't get this to work in Heli or Airplane mode, even after selecting a blank model and reseting it to default, enabling the mixes and trying all kinds of stuff. I can make it work backwards, throttle adding elevator or aileron, but not elevator or aileron adding throttle..

I made a fairly neat hack with the mix menus to turn the gyro switch into a Heading hold or rate mode switch, and bind the gain values to the flight mode switch (in essence giving me 4 gyro gain settings). I only mention this as I thought I had a pretty good understanding of mixes and what not..

Thanks Gents!

Spoke to horizon hobby, and they said that using mix to modify either throttle or pitch is not an option. Of course I asked WHY THE BLOODY HELL does the stinking book show Throttle -> throttle mixes?? Geeszzzz:arggg:

Oh, well, I'll have to come up with another trick to fabricate more than two throttle curves..

The DX6i is a great radio but it does have it's limitations as you are discovering. I sold my DX6i for $130 and put it towards a DX7 and have been very happy with it. If it's more throttle and pitch curves you are after the DX7 has three. Additionally it will allow the throttle to throttle mixing you are trying to set up.

Indeed, I discovered this limitation extremely quickly when I got my DX6i. If it let's you setup the mixes, they really should work. More of a bug then an intentional limitation.
