invertmast,

Have you been to Fentress NALF in Great Bridge, VA? This is my current field. We have lots of turbine guys and some amazingly beautiful jets at the field. People come from all over to fly their jets on our 10,000ft runway (we actually use the taxiway). The Navy has really been great to us, allowing us to fly there on the weekends. We host a huge annual jet rally (people show up from all over the country). We also have a nice heli field adjacent the runway. Only problem is all the jet noise while the helis are trying to pump out some 3D!

Make a trip out and fly with us one of these weekends after you get 'er together. There is no club so all you need to have is AMA and that turbine waiver!

PM me if you get a chance to come out. (and bring a camera)

squirrlybird,
never been there, but i'll have to make a trip sometime. If everything with work goes as they say its supposed to, i'll have the funds to finish this thing up by the end of may. But finding the time to do that might pose a problem them. And i still have to get my turbine waiver then also.

Invert... Just came back from B-field. All good.. Heli demo went awesome !! first actual time I actually had fun doing one. Wasnt nervous, just kicked ARSE ! anyways... Ken didnt have his bug. It was a rough weekend for 18's and panthers, and bandits, and f-16s. and boomerangs and... and .... Not to bad over all. Only one 18 crashed and burnt on Sunday morning... Big fireball like SHulmans at Joe Nall. I crew'd for Mcbride all weekend long with his yellow 18. Awesome... Thing hauls the mail the the 200 in it. Great flyer, and he flew the piss out of it. Hows yours coming ? Got many many pulls on bandit, and BAE hawk this weekend... Had about 15 turb flights... Made me kind of miss it a little.

LOL capi.. i think not.

J,
workin on gettin mine ready for paint. gotta do some overtime work at work to make up for a few days i was sick last week. Next paycheck is bill paycheck, so probly wont get much stuff for it, but its ready for paint and final fitout. Got the quote to have my other ram 1000 upgraded to autostart, so i gotta come up w/ another $700 for that.

If work gets busy like i'm told it will, it should be done by the end of may

been kinda lazy lately, so not much has gotten done on the F-18. I'm leaving tommorrow for a 4 week long trip, so nothing will get done either, but when i get back i should have the $$$ to buy everything i need to finish this project, unless i decide to get a Trex 500CF, Anyways, here's all that i've gotten done. This is just one side, i still have the other fairing for the other wing to mount up. this is about 12 hours worth of work, getting the control horns, linkages, servo's and fairings all built, adjusted, mounted and ready for paint. Yes that is REAL 1/16" carbon fiber servo mount plates on the bottom of the wings.

Its getting them. I've decided to do the hornet in the VFA-113 "stingers" squadron colors. It'll have full panel line, rivet and screw details, along w/ weathering, sidewinder, sparrow, 1000lb Mk82 bombs and external fuel tanks all hanging off of it :)
