OK, so I did a range test in front of my house after repositioning my Ar6200 main RX and it passed with flying colors. I went to the flying field I go to and performed the same range test as when it failed and nothing changed, it failed again. What's the diff in location, is the because in front of my house there are houses around bouncing the signal and getting better reception and the field is open and wide? I took someones advise and performed an old school range test, I disconnected the motor and walked about 400-500 ft and I still had full control of the heli (not using the bind/range test button) ,never lost TX/RX connection, this is way more than what I would ever fly my heli. Not sure what to think of this, would it be safe to fly the heli, wondering if there is somekind of signal at this flying field that's interfering with my radio, I did have severe interference at this field when I was using my Hitec Eclipse 7, reason I went to the Spectrum system.

iuam,

Another check you can do for interference is to uplug the motor and then turn the tx off first and see if the servos twitch.
As far as range check is concerned if you were out 400'+ and still had control with no visible twitching from the heli then I would fly it.
I do love my DX7 and would hate to have to send it back to Horizon for however long it would take them to repair it and send it back.

My two cents,
Tom L.

I just found out that when performing this range test the aircraft needs to be off the ground. I did a test yesterday, off the ground and elevated and sure enough I couldn't get it to pass the range test while on the ground but put it up about 4 feet and I could go further than 30 paces with full control and the binding button pressed.

I did have to move the main RX to where the antennas are out of the C/F frame. I don't have any pics yet but I think i have figured this problem out. My last test I want to do is do a range test at the actuall flying field I go to.
