I have got 4 x 2650 mAh rechargeable NiMh batteries that I want to charge with a Swallow charger.

What is the Amp rate to do this safely and what is the formula for NimH batteries i.e. 2 cells @ 2650 mAh should be charged at X rate , 1 cells @ 2650 mAh should be charged at X rate etc.

TIA

The charge rate depends on the capacity not the voltage or number of cells - good rule of thumb is 10% of the capacity so in your example 0.25A for 14 hours. Some NiMh can be fast charged so you can try and double this in most cases. Most chargers detect when NiMh are full by seeing how the delta voltage changes (towards end of charge rate of voltage change decreases as it approaches peak capacity)
