I don't think they will fit the stock plastic frame. You have the CF version?

No I will have the stock plastic frame but not sure if that matters.

You may be hard-pressed to fore/aft balance with those huge packs. The guys with cf frames seem to have an advantage for that.

Is that the brand you are having good luck with Mr. Mead?

Irrespective of fit and CofG that is a lot of weight... it (the Hurri) will hover OK and maybe do FFF but it will be a pig for aerobatics unless it's overall weight is less than 2600 - 2700 grams or so.

Also as the weight increases the gains for a bigger pack drop off... these packs would maybe work well with bigger blades (550s) and low HS (1800) for long slower flights (maybe aerial photography) but they seem heavy for sport or 3D flying.

It is already difficult CG'n with a pair of 3300 3s packs, which weighs in at 540g.

I haven't used the zippy brand packs yet.. but the prices look good. I use the hextronik packs in my 450.. they are great batteries.

I have been thinking of getting the 3300 packs for a 550 when I get one in a few months. along with the z20a-980.. figured that would give me decent head speed as well as good flight times.
