Will any FASST Rx work for the 12z with 2.4 Module

The Futaba 2.4GHz TM-14 Module for the 12Z is finally available at Tower. Does anybody know if it will work with the cheaper R617FS 7-channel rx, or only with the more expensive Futaba R6014FS rx?

Yes it will.

With the FASST module installed in the transmitter, select the "Linkage" menu and "Change Frequency." You can then use the rotory dial to change the transmission mode from "FASST Multi" to "FASST 7ch" This will allow you to fly the R607FS, R617FS, and if I'm not mistaken, the older R606 receivers as well. I've flown the 14 and 7 channel receivers with my 12Z/TM-14 module with no issues whatsoever. The only real negative to running the 7 channel receivers (and this is really minor in the grand scheme of things) is that is only fail safes the throttle channel. The 14 Ch receiver in "multi mode" allows the failsafe of all main flight controls.

Edit: Just FYI in case you didn't knw, if you haven't bought it yet, you will need to download the program updates for the 12Z before you install the TM-14 module. Without the update, the transmitter won't know what to do with the non-72 mhz module.
