Nice one, what blades are you using? I've never seen yellow blades on a rappy.

Hi Laurens, the blades are 610mm Funkey 3D blades. They are CF with a red stripe and a plain carbon stripe down their length. I realy like them, very visible.

Hey Simon the helicopter looks great! I am currently putting together (or waiting on some parts/equipment) to get my Raptor 50V2 flying.

What set up are you using for yours?

Servos: Futaba 9252s all around (5)
Receiver: Sombra Shadow 3
Gyro: CSM 420 Micro V4
Battery: True RC 2s2p 2000mah Li Poly running the new Arizona Heli Regulator
Governor: CSM Revlock (still might decide not to get one, not sure yet though)
Motor: haven't decided between OS 50 Hyper or YS 50ST with either Curtis MPII or the new Hatori pipe

TT Green Paddles with red dampers, maybe later down the line the SABs 600s blades, Quick UK metal head is on its way, Quick UK washout base (just to keep things nice and slop free in the head)

I am so excited to get this thing flying I can hardly wait!

Hi Steven,

It's my opinion, the Futaba 9252 is going to be a little slow for your tail rotor servo. A 9254 or several Hi-tec servos (hs-6965) would be a better choice.

Alright, I will take that into consideration... What about the Airtronics 9758 or whatever at .07 speed?

Sounds good, what's torq? Is it digital?

Looking good!! I have a few more upgrades untill I can't get anymore lol! That's when I'll buy a new bird!

The torque is right at 100 ounces and its coreless digital, it's what Alan Szabo is using for his birds :).

Hey John, what upgrades did you put on your helicopter again?

Me too. :D

I even did the CS Vigor tail upagre. I just wish the YS 50ST was out in greater numbers so I could get one. Then the only over upgrade I want is a GV-1.

That would be more than enough. They would be strong enough for collective and cyclic, no wonder Alan Szabo gets his heli moving so quick.

Sorry Stephen I did answer your original question.

TDG Head Block and rips, very happy with.
Rest of head is all metal TT stuff.
GY502 Gyro.
Vigor CS Tail Grips and aluminium fork.
TT Metal Fan.
QUK Landing Gear.
Rear servo mount.
HiTech HS 625 servos on collective and cyclic.
Fun-Key - Colored 3D blades.

Nice, thanks for posting...

I am thinking about ditching my new CSM 420 V4 micro gyro for the Futaba 601/9251 combo now that I have some extra cash, and then use 4 9252s for the rest of the helicopter. I still have to buy a metal head, greenies, red dampers, and I will probably leave whatever else stock untill I get some more cash. We will see soon enough...

Now is Futaba coming out with a new Gyro? The 611 or whatever I hear

You definitely wouldn't regret a 601. As for as Greenies go, they realy speed things up, but I am running the V 80mm paddles, they aren't quite as quick as the Greenies but heaps more stable.

Futaba 601/9251 combo

CS Vigor tail upgrade...what is this?

My Raptor 50 goodies:

Push Pull
Carbon Plate
Hyper
Rear Servo Mount
Metal Head (everything besides blade grips)
Carbon fins
Carbon Blades
Carbon T/Bs
metal Tail case
green paddles
MP2
TJ RevMax
401 w/ 9254
9252's

Plan on getting:

Red dampners
Alum Coll. Tray
Metal Grips
Alum. Ail Lever Set
Alum. Elevator System
CNC TR Blade Grips
Centry Tuff Strut landing gear

Carbon Frames?!?!

I want this bird blinged to the max~! When that is done with I'll buy another bird - it will be a bigger bird (90!) but I'm not sure if it will be a Raptor or not.

Here is a link with pics:

CS Vigor tail upgrade...what is this?

Your machine sounds sweet, I forgot to mention Carbon Extreme fins.

The CS Vigor tail up grade is basically the tail blade grips and hub, plus the CS Vigor Tail fork(I got the aluminium one).
The reason I went for it is because it has thrust bearings and connects onto the tail shaft with seperate grub screws to make maintenance easier. Also the tail hub is solid unlike the raptors. Also has the added adantage of speeding up the tail(that was unexpected). I would highly recommend it. There are some spacers you need to get as well, if any wants to know the exact parts I can look them up, just let me know.

I am very interested in that! Please let me know which parts! So basicly the only bonus is bling and faster tail speed? I love my machine!!! I work at Warrick Custom Hobbies now so the bling will gather more quickly LOL. Once she's done with bling I'll have to order a 90!!!

Actually, very low bling factor. The main reason I went for the CS Vigor tail grip upgrade, is because it has thrust bearings(Longer bearing life) and a solid hub with grub screws through the side(Easy Maintenance).

Will post the part numbers when I get home, I am at work now.

Hi John, these are the parts for the CS Vigor tail grip upgrade.
1) JRP960470 (This is the full set of grip and bearings).
2) JRP960340 (This is the Aluminium pitch slider, there is also a plastic one that is only a couple of bucks).
3) 2521065 these are spacers that you will need, I think they are a Hirobo part.

But then again the 50 is nice and cheap to run.

The modifications to my heli will be in order 1) metal head 2) metal washout base, 3) tt greenies, 4) red dampers, carbon fiber tail boom and horizontal/vertical fins, carbon fiber tail support rods, and fiberglass canopy when that comes out. Other then that, leave it alone and fly the crud out of it. Now that I definately have the extra cash, get the GY611 (601) instead of the csm 420, Hatori tuned pipe, OS 50 Hyper/YS 50st, and 9252s everywhere else with Arizona heli regulator and li poly pack, should be the cats meow.
