Well I took the Hurricane for her second flight on Friday. Got her up and was starting some circuits but noticed a bit of a wag. So I figured the gyro might not have initialized right and began to set her down. Anyways as I put her down she tilted from a wind gust and the TR dug into the dirt. Normally I'd expect to just have to replace the blades, but the entire tailcase blew off! Now since I didn't have the spare parts I needed, I slapped on a Trex 600 red boom(which looks awesome BTW) and a 600 tail system and belt. Unfortunately the 600 belt is about 20mm longer than the Hurricane so the boom was only about an inch into the frame so when I tried to hover her the tail wouldn't hold. So today I ordered the GAUI belt and hope when it comes in I can fly again! I'm keeping all of the 600 parts on though because it just looks cool with them on!
Hope you enjoyed my story, lol.

Marty...
Do a thread search on Wag...and you'll see several have battled this also......most attribute the wag to belt tension....as long as the gyro is not hunting...

Hey Marty, I would like to see a picture of your Rex mods on the Hurri. Where we are there are no RC Heli shops so we stockpile spare parts to stop us being grounded after accidents. Maybe you should order double on anything you break from now on. I'm sure that way you wont suffer the same problems we experience.

Hey Marty!
I had the Tail wag to but in my case it was the ballbearing set in the tailslider arm. The bearings where worn out and the tail startet to wag a little bit. After extensive research i found the play in the arm and changed the bearings. After that everithing was fine again.
I can second the point from Jungle Bob to order a few parts of everything critical to get it up and running in no time.
I understand that involves a lot of money but if that is not to much of an issue then oder away!
Hope you get the parts you need quick!!

Actually I flew it the day before and it had no wag, so that's why I thought it was th gyro not initializing right. I do have the red 600 boom and tail system on the heli which looks great! I did have to get some M3X35 socket screws for the boom clamp on the frame because the stock screw didn't reach all the way with the wider boom, and I think that's why the tail wasn't holding before. I'm gonna try it again tomorrow and see. I'll get some pics up for you guys in a bit.
As for spares, I have a few but not nearly as much s I'd like. I'd get more, but right now I'm saving for a vacation up north in April so that's priority right now. After the trip I'll save up again and get the spares. I also want to upgrade to more CNC parts, especially the hub and grips. I found that the head has quite a lot of movement inside the dampners.
Pics will be up shortly...thanks for the help and support guys!:noteworthy

OK, here's the pics, sorry there should be more, but my camera died and I'm outa batteries.
Yes those are 600 fins on too, the CF 550 fins don't fit. To get the boom to work, I had to use the end with the hole towards the frame and the end with the slit towards the tail. I just drilled a hole on the other side of the boom from the slit for the tailcase pin to go into...otherwise the Align logo wouldv'e been upside down and I didn't want to pi$$ off any Align fans lol. The stock GAUI boom linkage rod and rod guides don't work either, so since the Align boom comes with a long rod with guides, I bent it in the same shape as the GAUI rod and voala it works out...although i will have to shorten it when the GAUI belt arrives. Yes the Align boom weighs more, but I'm hoping when I get the GAUI belt in I can slide more of the boom in the block and the CG wil be back to normal, and if not, then CF Align boom will be next on my bird! I hope this can benefit some of those taill wag problems that have come up. I'll report back to you guys once I try it with the GAUI belt.
