Hi ;)
I'm currently looking for a good setup for a logo 600. In fact i'm coming from a trex 600E and have many new 6S 5000 packs.
I have the choice : either I use my current trex 600 setup (neu 1515/2.5D), which is quite powerfull, but the packs are quite warm after a flight, either I use a 12S 5000mah setup, which is a bit more heavier and with a NEU 1515/2Y
what do you think ?
thx,
Nicolas

I would go 12s. Do those big 6s packs actually fit in under the gear and motor? Do you have a bearing block thinghy?

Hi,
As i still don't have the kit, I don't know if the pack fits. But this pack is sometime used in logo 500 conf.
For the counterbearing, it wont be necessary as this Neu have big bearings and good shaft.
The only thing is : will 12S 5000 will be too heavy (1450g vs 960 for a 10s 3850 tp) ?
Either, this current setup ( 6S 5000-neu 1515/2.5D) is working GREAT on my trex 600 which is quite havier than the logo 600.

I vote to use your current motor and 6s packs. Later you can upgrade if you feel the need.

What pinion would you use ?

I just did a little math and that motor isn't going to work on this heli because it's kv rating is simply to high. Your going to need a Tango 45-10 or a NEU 1910H/1Y...... whatever motor, keep the kv rating around 1100. After you decide what motor your going run, then we will determine pinion size.
What sort of flying are you going to do?
My 9s2p A123 pack comes in at about 1400g and it lifts off the ground no-problem. I doubt the gurus would want to fly 3d with it.

Jeremy, That is pretty much the way I see it also .the Nue 15-15/2.5 is rated at 1700 kv.I have one of these motors and I was hoping to use it in a L-14.I am still looking for a 6s motor that will work for sport.

Using two 6S 5000 packs will make the Logo 600 fairly nose heavy. Depending on which ESC you chose to run (in the Kontronic line you'll have to step-up to the PowerJazz for 12S), the combination of the 12S and the heavier ESC will make it really nose heavy. I'm running a PowerJazz on 10S 4350 at the moment, and it is at the limit. As it is, I have an ounce of weight on the tail to make it balanced neutral (some like 'em a little nose heavy, I prefer neutral). Also, I'm not even sure if two 6S 5000 packs will even fit in the frames . Proceed with caution $$$$$.

I'm running 10S evolite 5350 packs and I still have to move them forward to balance!
6s will give you very low duration around the 4 minute mark, still got all the power though.
12s IMO :D

hi,
I thank you all for your answers. This setup will be for hard 3D, but the trex 600 is doing well with it right now.
The last question, but not the least (it's a $700 questions) => v-bar or not v-bar ?

v-bar or not v-bar ?
I suspect you already know the answer to that one :D

jamesotron99,
Yep. That's about right. The 5350 pack is only about 2 ounces heavier than the 4350 pack, and the PowerJazz I'm using is 8 ounces (ouch). So depending on which ESC you're using (probably weights a lot less than 8 ounces), you having to run the battery a little forward makes sense ;). If the 5350 packs didn't cost even MORE  than the 4350's, I'd like to try 'em. The extra flight time would be nice.
