I had this setup working for a bit until I ran into a mishap adjusting my the gain on the AP2000i and my trims. I in the process of trimming my heli out using the transmitter trims with the AP2000i gain on 100%. I than turned the AP2000i gain to 0% which put my heli out of control and into a nose dive crash. I have fixed and replaced all what appeared to be broke and damaged including a servo or two. Is there a way to check to see if the Gyro is still working? The reason I ask is, I am having a problem getting the tail from spinning around wildly up just lifting off. I have to throw the hold switch to kill it. I have adjusted the gain from -20 to +30 on the trim 4 setting in the AP2000i, but the gyro won't seem to hold the tail. I have tried the servo trick that one member had mentioned. That didn't work. I am wondering if I have a bad gyro or if I have it set up wrong. I have the gain (single yellow wire) going into channel 4 on the AP2000i and the others going to the servo and to channel 4 on the receiver. It is not in HH mode. The red light is on (solid) on the gyro. I just can't figure out why the tail is out of control and not responding like it should. I am able to control the tail with the controller left and right.

make sure your direction switch on your gyro is set correct.

you want to make sure oyu tail blades are deflecting wind into the direction the heli is moving.
