Do any of you have either the plastic or new fiberglass canopies? I would like to know how much the new fiberglass canopy weighs as well as the plastic one. :thinking

Who has the new canopy?? I can't find anyone that has them.
are they as fragile as the other fibre ones! broke mine taking out the box as such! The plastic just seems to slim for my liking.

The original FG canopy is very fragile especialy at the top of the canopy. Its very thin and cracks easily. Hopefuly the new FG (FRP ??) one will fix this.

Awesome! Thanks red-z06. Looks like I may need to look into getting one of the new fiber glass canopies. After upgrading with the cf tail boom and replacing the tail link rod with a cf tube I'm a bit nose heavy, 15g should be just right.

We just received the REAL canopy retainers from Gaui. Yours should be like ours where you have aluminum stud and a screw acting as a retainer. You can continue to use the screw but it would work better if you grind down the screw head to a bump for easy on and off of the canopy during battery change.
The original FG canopy is sturdy enough to handle the stress but the new FG will crack so be sure to knock down the screw head or replace with real canopy retainer. Also, the bottom canopy hook is pretty rough on the canopy and I don't think you need to capture the bottom of canopy into the hook at all. This is a point where new FG canopy will crack under stress especially if you use a velcro strap to fasten the battery.
For super light 3d setup, I would think replacing the cnc tail casing to a plastic one would improve CG.
