I recently purchased the HDX 500 and outfitted it with the following:

3 - HS-85MG Metal Gear Micro BB HS/HT Servo (Cyclic)
1 - Futaba S9254 Hi Torque Servo (Tail)
1 - CSM SL420 Sub Micro Smart Head Lock Gyro
1 - Align 60A Brushless ESC(Governer Mode/Setpless BEC 5-6v) RCE-BL60G
1- HYPERION Z-3025 10 TURN 815 KV BRUSHLESS MOTOR
1- EVO2537004S LiPo 14.8V 3700mAh 25C EVO25-37004S Balance

Can anyone advise if this is a good combination of parts ????

This is a good setup all but the gyro, i would go with a Gy 401 or a JR 770 IMOH..

Thanks

Hyperion H-3025 10T motor has a built in fan specially for helis, keeps the motor cooler during slow flights and hover

Thanks guys,

How about a Logitec 2100 gyro? I have a couple of these... or just spring for the GY401....

Quite a few HDX500 chaps here in South Africa has 2100T's , no problems if properly set up

Thanks Lotus,

I haven't been able to fly it as yet with the CSM, waiting for the batteries. I have hovered it with a 2100mah just to set things up. I'll see what the CSM will do when I do get it up in the air for real. I'm not heavy into 3D, but I can flip, roll and barrel it....
If the CSM can't perform, I'll switch to the Ligitec......

we have identical setups as im assuming we both went with the combo package with helidirect. i opted not to get the 4S batteries and plan on going with 2 3S 3300's in parallel with a 15 or 16t pinion.

i also went with the Pentium 80A ESC and went with a Medusa 3.5A/6V BEC.

havent put it together yet but im anxious to get it flying.
