i'm on a mission to find better skids for this bird, and a better verticle stabilizer. makes it way too easy to break.

post your mods if you have any.

i think i'm going with the walkera 53#1 skids. K. Lim used them on his. they have them at helix.com

For the rear tail fin (vertical stabilizer) you could get a sheet of carbon fiber ply and cut something out of that yourself.

Something like this: http://dragonplate.com/ecart/categories.asp?cID=3

The Walkera landingsskid is higher, so you will have no problems with the tailvin,
the walkera skid is longer, so the heli during the take off is much more stable
and the Walkera skid is just stronger, and it can take "hard landing easily without damaging the tail vin or the frame.
and it is cheap

looks a good mod. I have a set of carbon on mine and seem to be Ok with the tail hitting unless it's me driving when I can come down rather on the heavy side. Will look into the wlakera ones.

IF you use the CF skids make sure you have the brass spacers between the frame and the back skid arm. This keeps the tail away from the ground.

these walkera skids are the bomb. very few mods. just driil new mounting holes through the new skids and get four longer mounting screws. the tail is about an inch off the ground now.

How much did you have to pay for shipping? Does anyone carry Walkera parts in the states?

the cf skids are fine buzz, but for my skill level(beginner) the walkera skids are like traing gear. good for newbs

OIC. Thought maybe the CF skids had some problem.

The CF skids are nice if you are going for that 'look', but I prefer the more realistic look of the other type skids.

I wonder what it would look like if you kept the CF skids supports or arms and made some alum. tubes for it?
