I just tought of something. Could I, for AP, put 350mm rotortech blades and extend the boom of my 450? Would it increasestability?
Thanx!

believe it or not, I'm running them on a non stretched 450 right now. Would I suggest it? No. I know it could hit the tail rotor blades. I'm sourcing a slightly longer belt and retaining the stock boom, and should be pretty safe with that.
I've flown it quite a bit with the Rotortechs, both the 325 and 350's, and I'd guess it's a bit more stable, and a bit more responsive in VRS conditions. Honestly, I think the best change was switching to Evo Lite V2 2500's. Man, I like them a lot more than my TPX packs!

do you have some aerial shots and pics of your heli (and rig)?

This is with the 325's. Just imagine another 20mm :D

I'm sure you can clear 20 more millimeters. Just dont roll it.
20mm is only 3/4 of an inch. Just get a piece of tape and let 3/4" hang off the tip of the blade to see how much it can clear.
Thats what I did with my 600 to make sure it can clear 620s.

Bullaculla - the state that you DON'T want to get into is pulling back elevator, and negative pitch, not roll. THAT would be a disaster. Of course, with a helicam that's pretty unlikely, but if you happened to get the nose pointed down in a high speed descent and gave it a lot of elevator, you just may recreate the same scenario (sans negative pitch). Either way, I would be VERY careful if anyone was to try this. It would be better to stretch it 1/4"-1/2" before I'd call it "safe."

Sorry, I meant flip. And that gives negative pitch right over the tail boom. I actually did do a few backflips with my 600 running 620s, and today I did a few stationary tumbles my stretched trex running 690s :D

hey iflybyu77, what cam and lens do you use?

Canon S80 with Canon WA lens and adapter.
A word to the wise - don't waste your money on cheap imitation lenses for cameras. Optics are everything. There are lighter more capable cameras out by now I'm sure. This is just what I've been using for my setup, and I know it works.
Do you know the align part number for the stretched T-Rex belt? Is it part of a standard range of industrial belts?

I'm flying 350 RT's now. I initially used brass K$S tubing but recently went to Blade 400 tail boom. The belt is from Sterling Instrument/Stock Drive Products. It is MXL pitch 1/8 " wide neoprene. If you use the 413 tooth belt you have to nip off about 1/8 inch or just a little more from the rear of the boom. Very easy with tin snips. A longer belt say 3 to 5 more teeth would be desirable. Regardless of boom and or heli I'm flying I do use another servo mount clamp to hold the boom from sliping back into the frame.

You will have too long of a belt with the 424 tooth. you will have to move the belt boom back a little in the mount and probably move the tail case back on the boom and 1/8th or so and fix it with a bolt or sim.
I tried that don't pull back thing. Didn't work out too good on a very slightly rough landing. Lost the tail blades even with extra dampening shims in the head.
What parts were you going to use??>??
