All
I picked up my B400 yesterday, and took it for a quick hover just to test out the servo's and what not. Yes, it does fly straight out of the box......

Anywho, I had 4 HS65hb servo's spare so I changed them out. I put one on the tail also. Not only is the pitch reversed, I can't get rid of a massive tail wabble. No matter what I do, the tail will no lock in. I'm still using the standard gyro.

Suggestions?

Reverse your servo's in the transmitter, I think they all need to be reversed if I remember correctly. And also reverse the servo setting on the gyro, there is a switch.

Thanks Greenbaron

I have done all that, yet the tail still wabbles like mad.

You tail is probably wagging because that servo is a little on the slow side. You will have to really lower the gain on the gyro down to compensate for that.

OK, thought it might have been the servo.........

Looks like I'll have to upgrade to a little futaba!

On the net we go..........

MY 3400g burned up???????

I HAD to fly and had 3 choices:

1) order 3400g and wait uhhhh NO I want it NOW!

2) use the stock servo, uhhhh NO

3) Use what hobby shop had in stock Futaba s9650

I'm back in the air and holding pretty well. You guessed it, went with option 3 (only had a couple flights so far) but it was a pain to set up.

I'll stop by the hobby shop tomorrow to see what they have in stock. If it's like usual, I'll have to go on the net...................

Leaning toward the Futaba 9257. I'll stick with the stock gyro 110, and see how it goes.

The futaba 9257 is a good servo. This servo goes good with my GY401

Hi,

First post here on HF. You would rather be grounded than fly the stock tail servo? Why? I've got 20 flights on mine. It's not PERFECT but. Unless you're strictly hard 3D.

It's unflyable at the moment. The tail wags from side to sie quite rapidly. I have a Trex 600e, so I'm not grounded. I got this to fly on ovals and what not, just to have a bit of fun and not have to worry about killing a $300 batter, or smash a $150 set of Radix. I don't really worry about that when at the field, but I usually get there only once a week.

sweet

Can I use the 9257 with the gyro that comes with the blade 400?

yes but u will have a servo throw issue the 9250 range is much grater than the stock
so to limit it with stock gyro have to place the ball as close to the center of the servo arm as possible

but it sould work

could that be the problem with the hs65 i'm using now.

I flicked the switch to digital last night to see what would happen............... I think i fried that servo!

It just jammed and now I can't move it. I'll take a good look at it tonight. It was really hot to touch also. So I think I burned it.
